Pete Farber, who is currently ninth in the NHRA Pro Mod championship series points, will race at the upcoming NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway in Concord, North Carolina, September 18–20, 2015.
Pete Farber Racing attempted to qualify in the quickest Pro Mod field in history while racing at the NHRA Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals event at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, September 4–7, 2015.

A field of 33 competitive Pro Mod cars showed up in Indy for “The Big Go” event. Qualifying began Friday evening, where Farber ran a 6.446 at 237.92 mph, which placed him 26th. The second round of qualifying began Saturday afternoon, and Farber improved to a 5.997 at 243.94 mph run, which moved him up into 15th. Later that evening, the Pro Mod cars were called to the lanes for the third round of qualifying where Farber yielded a 6.151 at 241.11 mph, pushing him down into 20th.

As the U.S. Nationals race takes place over the course of four days rather than NHRA’s standard three, the Pro Mod class enjoyed an extra round of qualifying. On Sunday morning, Farber, in his CRC ’69 Dodge Daytona had a 0.999-second 60-ft. time, and flew to the eighth-mile marker in 3.949 seconds at 191.81 mph. By the time he had crossed through the traps and stopped the clocks, Farber had put down a 5.971 at 244.87 mph run. However, the bump spot to get into the show had been set at 5.940 and Farber missed the mark by the slimmest of margins.

Major changes are expected for the next-generation Honda Civic, which will be released as a 2017 model in late 2016 and sold globally. SpiedBilde caught a left-hand-drive mule of the new Civic Type R on south European soil.

Civic Type R

The models to be replaced by the new Civic date back to autumn 2011 (Europe) and late 2012 (USA), with the Type R having been released a few months ago. The 10th model in the Civic history will be lighter and should feature styling similar to Honda's latest concept cars. More important, however, the new model will become a true global car sold in Japan and other Asian countries, all over Europe and in North America.

Civic Type R

The new Civic will grow considerably in size, partly to make customers of the Accord stay with the make after the bigger sedan and estate have been axed in various European markets. The new car will be available in a variety of body styles, including fastback (seen here), sedan, coupe and three-door hatch.
