Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week (AAIW) 2011 kicks off November 1 in Las Vegas,
where more than 100,000 industry professionals from 113 countries will
come to grow their businesses, preview more than 7,500 new products that
will set trends for tomorrow and participate in more than 100
educational seminars, workshops and product demonstration clinics. AAPEX will be held at the Sands Expo Center, November 1–3, and the SEMA Show will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, November 1–4.
Registration for the Society of Collision Repair Specialists’ (SCRS)
2011 Repairer Driven Education (RDE) series is open, and is
complimented by new enhancements, such as the ability to purchase
individual sessions or a full-series pass. The sessions will be held on
each day of the 2011 SEMA Show
in the afternoon. RDE features subject matters geared specifically to
collision-repair businesses and will include a headline presentation
from Afterburner fighter pilots on Thursday, November 3, at 5:30 p.m.
To date, the number of first-time exhibitors signed up to attend the 2011 SEMA Show—to
be
held November 1–4 in Las Vegas—has grown to 233. Each year, the
association welcomes hundreds of new exhibitors to the Show and this
year is no exception.
Aston-Martin, Bentley, Lamborghini. These exotic vehicle makes are not
what first comes to mind when thinking about SEMA Show vehicles. While
not as common as the Camaro or F-150, these extreme examples of
precious metal make the trip to the SEMA Show annually to demonstrate
that even vehicles that seemingly have it all, can offer even more with
the help of the specialty-equipment industry.
Chevrolet will add a special program to its 2011 SEMA Show strategy.
This program will highlight its new small-car entry—the Sonic—seeking
accessory-based projects from the specialty-equipment market.

Companies interested in developing a GM-based project vehicle are
