The SEMA Businesswomen’s Network (SBN) has named Ann Swayka of AirPro Diagnostics as this week’s #SheIsSEMA Spotlight member. Swayka is the executive assistant and event planner at her company, an aftermarket leader in automotive scanning, diagnostics, calibration and programming services.
If Swayka could go to lunch with one industry leader, it would be Jack Chisenhall. Find out why in her Q&A with SEMA and the SBN.
SEMA: What is the best advice you have ever received?
Ann Swayka: The best advice I’ve ever received is from my mother, and it is to never pass on the opportunity to learn something new. Knowledge is power and no one can take it away from you.
SEMA: What keeps you involved in this industry?
AS: I'm surrounded by all men on our executive management team. We are a technology company that supports collision shops and safety of fixing vehicles in accidents. I love learning about all the caveats of what our scan tool does as well as our newly developed Auggie for ADAS. Learning new things always keeps me inspired and being around all these guys, I get to keep everyone in line and organized.
SEMA: On a Saturday, where can you be found?
AS: You can find me at the pool, at the beach, or out walking or running.
SEMA: How do you prepare for an important meeting?
AS: I am the the organizer, the planner and the scheduler. I have to make sure everything is in order and I am ready. I pride myself on my crazy organizational skills as well as always giving 125%.
SEMA: If you could go to lunch with one industry leader, living or dead, who would it be?
AS: Jack Chisenhall, one of the new inductees to the SEMA Hall of Fame. I'm a Navy mom so I admire his history of being a military brat as well as serving in the Air Force. Plus, he's involved with the new technology of OEMs—something that our company is based on. I'd love to pick his brain.
