The MPMC Media Trade Conference is a unique event bringing together editors, reporters and editorial teams from all over the world with manufacturers of racing and performance parts and accessories.

Exhibitor applications for the 2018 Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council (MPMC) Media Trade Conference, January 24–26, at the Embassy Suites Orange County Airport North in Santa Ana, California, are due September 5.

Manufacturers who submitted an application for the 2017 event but were not selected are automatically guaranteed a spot in the 2018 event, provided an application for this year is received by September 5.

The MPMC Media Trade Conference is a unique event bringing together editors, reporters and editorial teams from all over the world with manufacturers of racing and performance parts and accessories. Unlike a traditional trade show where exhibitors meet with attendees on the show floor, the Media Trade Conference consists of individual, private, one-on-one interviews between media representatives and manufacturers.

The event consistently serves as one of the largest platforms for manufacturers in the motorsports segment to promote their product lines while creating lasting relationships with the media.

Exhibitor applications for the 2018 MPMC Media Trade Conference are being accepted through September 5. Only 100 exhibitor spots are available, and participants are selected through a random number lottery system.

Eaton Detroit Spring Partners With Performance Business Media

Eaton Detroit Spring has announced a partnership with Performance Business Media. The motorsports marketing firm will act as Eaton’s agency of record for media placement, creative and public relations. Celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2017, Eaton Detroit Spring is known for its leaf and coil springs for the restoration and street-rod markets. The company has obtained more than 24,000 OEM spring blueprints over the years and manufactures its products in Detroit.

Courtney Hansen to Appear at Champion Oil Booth During 2017 SEMA Show

Champion Oil has announced today that Courtney Hansen will sign autographs at the Champion Oil Booth #24223 during the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, October 31–November 3. Specific scheduled times will be announced during the Show and on the event website. Hansen is well known for her work and association with popular cable TV shows such as “Overhaulin’,” “Powerblock,” “Great Builds,” “Destination Wild,” “Million Dollar Motors,” Autoweek’s “Vinsetta Garage,” and “Power Nation.” She is the published author of The Garage Girl’s Guide to Everything You Need to Know About Your Car (a book offering women and first-time car buyers advice on how to care for their cars). Champion also announced this week the unveiling of a new line of motor oils at the 2017 SEMA Show specifically formulated to maximize the demands of today’s high-performance street vehicles.

Legacy Manufacturing Expanding to Support Growth

Legacy Manufacturing Co. will expand its recently completed facility as a result of continued growth and success in bringing manufacturing back to the United States. In 2016, Legacy completed its 133,000-sq.-ft. facility, located at 6509 Partners Ave., Marion, Iowa. The new warehouse expansion will add 200,000 sq. ft. to Legacy’s existing facility with a capital investment of $11 million. This expansion adds support for Legacy’s reshoring efforts of its proprietary products, including Flexzilla air hose. Construction will begin immediately. Legacy currently has 58 employees in Marion, and the expansion is expected to create 13 new jobs over the next three years.

4 Wheel Parts Stores in Houston Helping With Hurricane Harvey Rescue Efforts

Houston-area 4 Wheel Parts stores are now helping out with the rescue and recovery efforts in their community as a result of Hurricane Harvey. Participating in the effort is Craig Reitenour, assistant manager from 4 Wheel Parts Houston, who has been providing high-clearance vehicles along with his own 4x4 to assist with the rescue operations. “Transamerican Auto Parts extends our thoughts and prayers to everyone down in South Texas and Louisiana persevering through the challenges brought about by Hurricane Harvey,” said Transamerican Auto Parts President and CEO Greg Adler. AM General Awarded Five-Year Foreign Military Sale Contract For Up To 11,560 HMMWVs

The U.S. Army Contracting Command awarded global vehicle solutions provider AM General a five-year, firm fixed price Foreign Military Sale (FMS) requirements contract to manufacture an estimated quantity of 11,560 new High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs). The total value of the contract is approximately $2.2 billion. Under this contract, AM General will provide a wide range of variants, including protected weapons carriers, cargo transporters, communications vehicles and ambulances. The vehicles under this contract build upon the current globally installed base of more than 250,000 HMMWVs in use worldwide in more than 60 different countries.

Engine and Performance Warehouse Names Duane Zook General Manager for South Division

Engine and Performance Warehouse Inc. (EPWI) has named Duane Zook as its new general manager for the South division. He succeeds John Clark, who was with the company for 23 years and has decided to retire. Zook has completed several months of training with Clark, and has now assumed the new position with EPWI. In the new position, Zook will join EPWI’s senior management team and be responsible for the management and direction of 10 branches throughout the United States. Zook brings more than 33 years of automotive and engine-parts aftermarket experience to his new position with EPWI. He started his automotive career in 1984, and has held various roles within the automotive retail and wholesale markets, working for companies, including G&M Performance, Competition Specialties, Engines and Components, and Engine & Performance Warehouse Inc. Zook will perform his duties from the corporate office in Dallas.

E3 Performance Products has announced that Kunzman & Associates has joined the company’s expanding roster of manufacturer representation for E3 spark plugs and performance products. The 24-member staff of Kunzman & Associates services more than 3,000 accounts across 37 states east of the Rockies.

JMPR Named Public Relations Agency of Record for Haynes Manuals Inc.

JMPR Public Relations has announced that it has been named public relations agency of record for Haynes Manuals Inc. Founded in 1960, Haynes is a leading publisher of DIY automotive, powersports, marine and tractor manuals, under the Haynes, Clymer, Chilton, and I&T brands. Along with traditional printed manuals, Haynes now also offers more than 300 of its automotive, motorcycle, marine and ATV manuals in a subscription-based digital format via its online manual product. JMPR will be responsible for helping drive awareness of Haynes’ new revolutionary OnDemand product, which offers job-by-job, model-specific videos covering the most common repair and maintenance tasks.
