Global Publications to Watch For 

International interest in automotive customization continues to grow each year. That is the reason why journalists from around the world come to the SEMA Show. With attendees from Canada, Mexico, Australia, Japan, Venezuela, Brazil and more than 120 other countries, the SEMA Show is featured in publications throughout the world. Below is just a sampling of the media coverage from outside the United States.

Editor Eduardo Bernasconi has been attending the SEMA Show regularly for several years. The automotive expert from Brazil looks to the annual SEMA Show to discover new trends and hot products. In a recent issue of Fullpower magazine, the journalist highlighted several pages filled with photos of vehicles and top products from the 2011 SEMA Show.

This top publication in Venezuela highlighted the 2011 SEMA Show in nearly 40 pages of its December issue, including mention of the Show on the cover. Featuring products from Hawk, Pirelli and several OEMs, the magazine’s editor, Alejandro Villalobos, was one of several participants in the SEMA Global Media Awards program.

As one of the hot markets for automotive customization, Brazil had several representatives at the SEMA Show. Journalist Miguel Ricardo Puerta attended the 2011 SEMA Show representing Carstereo and Hot Rods magazines. Covering the two magazines must’ve kept him busy, as he had 25 pages of coverage in Hot Rods and 26 in Carstereo!

With 25 international journalists serving as judges, the program is a great way for SEMA Show exhibitors to learn about international markets. Through the program, the judges select products that they feel will resonate most with consumers in their home countries. Over the years, hundreds of exhibitors have been recognized for their products and have discovered potential export opportunities.
