TORA 2015 Best New Products are Chosen at the SEMA Show

The annual New Products Awards are chosen by a panel of volunteer, non-manufacturing industry professionals within the Light Truck Accessory Association (TORA). The awards recognize innovation, product potential and consumer appeal in two categories: best under $500 and best over $500.

TORA Best New Product Under $500

J.W. Speaker designs and manufactures vehicle lighting systems for OEMs and aftermarket applications. The company was awarded with Best New Product Under $500 for its LED headlight, the “Model 8900 Evolution.” This LED headlight is a simple drop-in replacement for 5x7-in. headlights. The new design boasts a 30% increase in high-beam intensity, but uses less power. The Model 8900 Evolution features a die-cast aluminum housing and hard-coated polycarbonate lens for maximum durability. The LEDs and engineering optics produce a beam pattern for maximum visibility. For more information on the Model 8900 Evolution, visit J.W. Speaker’s website.

TORA Best New Product Over $500

Rigid Industries Midnight Edition Optics are a new technology in the lighting industry. Starting with the patented Hybrid Spot Optic, the engineers at Rigid developed a transparent black polymer coating that darkens the look and feel of the optic during the day without significantly impacting their ability to light up the night. The result is a “blacked-out” look, from the face of the optics to the black screen-printed logos on black powder-coated housings with black anodized hardware. Midnight Edition Optics are available in three product lines (E-Series, D-Series and RDS-Series). For more information on the Midnight Edition Optics, visit Rigid Industries’ website.

Three new vehicle data records have been added to the WTC Wheel Measurement Database:

  • ’16 Honda Pilot Touring
  • ’16 Honda Civic Sedan
  • ’16 Nissan Maxima Platinum

The new vehicles were added to the existing list of vehicles in the database:

  • ’15 Chevrolet Camaro SS
  • ’15 Chevrolet Colorado LT
  • ’16 Ford Explorer Sport 2.3 EcoBoost
