chairman Rick Rollins and current chairman Scooter Brothers about a
revision to the SEMA Bylaws. The SEMA Board of Directors recently approved a motion to decrease the
size of the Board. The bylaw revision initiative reflects their
consensus that a smaller Board would improve the quality of discussion
and reduce cost.

The vehicles featured in the Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA)
Builder's Challenge during July's SEMA Pinewood Drag Races will soon be
made available for auction through eBay. Proceeds raised through the
auction will benefit Childhelp and the Victory Junction Camp. But before
these carefully crafted masters of the metal dragstrip find new homes, SEMA eNews talked to builders Keith Kaucher and Brent Vandervort to uncover their motivation for making these pinewood cars special.

The U.S. Department of Commerce named SEMA as one of the five recipients
of the Market Development Cooperators Program (MDCP) for 2011. As a
result, SEMA will receive $500,000 in matching funds over the next three
years to support U.S. manufacturers that export automotive
specialty-equipment products to booming international markets, such as
China and the Middle East.
