The SEMA Businesswomen's Network (SBN)
presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Linda Vaughn, a founding
member of the SBN, at the annual SEMA Networking Breakfast – Powered by
the SBN, in recognition of Vaughn’s lifelong participation and
exceptional achievements within the automotive aftermarket.

When the 13th annual Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council (MPMC)
Media Trade Conference opens January 19, 2010, it will be in a new home
for the first time in six years. It will move from El Segundo,
California, near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), to a newly
renovated Radisson Suites in Covina, California.

SEMA recently hosted the annual Installation Banquet & Gala Fundraiser in Pasadena, California. As part of the festivities, a variety of activities provided association members with the opportunity to network with one another as well as raise money for two great charities—Childhelp and Victory Junction Camp. The events leading up to the banquet included the Pinewood Drag Race and the Show 'N Shine car show. In addition, HRIA members this year helped coordinate "The Starting Lineup," an auction of pinewood cars designed by kids and autographed by professional racers, automotive legends and entertainment celebrities. With more than 70 cars on display, all forms of hot rodding were represented.

Ford and General Motors presented their design awards at the 2009 SEMA
Show to recognize and celebrate the innovation and ingenuity of the
specialty-equipment industry. With nearly 1,400 vehicles on display,
the Show's shinning stars came in many forms, from work trucks, trail
riders and urban cruisers to hand-built hot rods, green machines and
meaty musclecars.
