A recent study on vehicle accessorization
by the automotive marketing research and consultancy firm AutoPacific
confirmed that accessories influence more than one million vehicle sales
each year. And while many new- and used-vehicle dealers understand the
power of accessorization, others have questions about how to incorporate
accessory sales effectively, providing not only an added impetus for
vehicle shoppers to make purchases but also adding to the dealership’s
bottom line through a supporting profit channel.
SEMA is an institution that the racing and performance industry helped
create, so it’s no surprise that for many who will attended the 2011
SEMA Show, racing and performance parts are the main attraction.
After two successful years, the Opinion Leaders Program will once again expand at the 2011 SEMA Show.
Through the research project, some of the nation’s most active and
influential automotive enthusiasts are called upon to help industry
professionals identify future trends by attending the Show and providing
first-hand feedback on the products and vehicles debuting at the SEMA
Show.
The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) joins Kristen Felder
with Collision Hub during a recent industry meeting in Salt Lake City,
Utah, to discuss the advancements in store for the Repairer Driven
Education sessions featured at the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Listen
in to the conversation with SCRS Chairman Aaron Clark, SCRS Executive
Director Aaron Schulenburg and SCRS Membership and Events Coordinator
Jeff Hendler as the team discusses education, evening activities and the
massive growth of the Collision Repair and Refinish section at this
year's Show.
While the 2011 SEMA Show is still a few months away, it’s important to
look back at the previous year to gauge the direction the industry is

The auto-parts industry shows no signs of letting up on the throttle in
spite of turbulence on Wall Street, at least not yet. Even though the
economy as a whole has been volatile, consistently positive data is
still coming in around the SEMA Show, which is seeing growth in square
footage and attendance continues to power ahead.

exhibitors make good choices so they can optimize their Show
experience. The first part will be presented by 2010 SEMA Hall of Famer
Chuck Schwartz of ConvEXX, Tuesday, August 23, from 10:00 a.m.–11:00
a.m. (PDT). The second will be presented by Jennifer Carr of ConvExx,
Tuesday, August 30, from 10:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. (PDT).
