As a member of the Association, we need your recommendation of industry leaders to serve on the SEMA Board of Directors. Our industry has many individuals who would be an asset to the SEMA Board, but oftentimes those individuals aren’t immediately apparent to the committee that is responsible for selecting the final candidates.

Please take a moment to tell us about whom you would recommend as a potential nominee for a Board member position.

It would also be most helpful if you would include information to help the Nominating Committee know more about the qualifications of the nominees, such as background, experience and achievements from a leadership standpoint.

 Nominations for the 2012 SEMA Board of Directors are due Wednesday, January 4, 2012.

Following are dates and locations for several upcoming SEMA-sponsored shows, webinars and activities. Click on an item for more details.

The shooters at Brenda Priddy & Co. recently delivered these shots of the next-generation Nissan Altima sedan. The team reports that past prototypes were heavily camouflaged, but this one is sporting just a tad of plastic wrap up front, with the remainder of the body simply covered with form-fitting decals in the now-typical black and white swirl pattern.

A new grille and sleeker headlights are easy to see through the light camouflage. More aggressive fog lights are also visible. At the rear, new taillights and dual exhaust are present. While it's toned down, Priddy says that styling from the Ellure concept has made its way to the next-gen Altima.

The Altima will continue on the Nissan D platform, and Priddy reports that a new 2.0L turbo-charged four-cylinder engine is expected. It's not clear if Nissan will keep the older 2.5L I4 motor around, however, an updated version of the 3.5L V6 should continue as the up-market motor.

A CVT transmission and a six-speed manual are also expected to be offered, according to Priddy.

Production of the new Altima sedan is slated to start in the third quarter of 2012, with the coupe and hybrid to follow for the 2014 model year.
