Callaway Competition, Flying Lizard Motorsports Earn Podiums in Pirelli World Challenge Season Opener

The Pirelli World Challenge debut of the Callaway Competition USA Corvette C7 GT3-R was hailed a success on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, last Sunday afternoon. Driver Daniel Keilwitz earned a top-five finish and a second-place finish during the double header, moving him to second position in the championship standings. The Pirelli World Challenge next competes at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, for Rounds 1–2 of the SprintX championship: a 60-minute race in which two drivers share the duties for the same car. The driver joining Keilwitz will be announced shortly, as the team has confirmed the Callaway Competition C7 GT3-R will run in the event March 23–25.

Flying Lizard Motorsports closed out its first race weekend of the 2018 Pirelli World Challenge season last Sunday morning, leaving the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg with a podium and an additional top-five finish. The team debuted its pair of new Audi R8 LMS GT4 cars with drivers Mike Hedlund and Adam Merzon. Hedlund and the No. 45 Audi R8 LMS led the charge for the weekend, earning a second-place finish in race one and a fourth-place finish in race two, earning a second-place spot in the GTSA point standings, just two points behind Drew Staveley. Merzon earned a ninth- and a 12th-place finish, placing him in ninth position in the championship standings.

Falken Tires to Enter 2018 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series With Two Pro-Lite Teams

Falken Tires will support two teams in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series for 2018. Brenthel Industries, a veteran off-road team and long-term partner to Falken Tires, will return to the Pro-Lite class with driver Jonathan Brenthel. Also competing will be Mamer Motorsports with driver Cole Mamer in the Pro-Lite class. Both teams will carry Falken’s traditional blue and teal livery on their vehicles. The first race takes place Saturday, March 17, at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California.

The Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series kicks off April 5 at the 10th Annual NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia. 

Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series Returns for 2018

The Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series kicks off April 5 at the 10th Annual NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia. It is followed by races in Joliet, Illinois; Norwalk, Ohio; and two events in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The series ends September 9 in Bowling Green. In addition to mild and heavily modified engines, the series also showcases the Chevrolet Performance DR 525 drag-racing sealed crate engine in the Chevrolet Performance Stock class. The Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series takes place alongside the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals. The Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series features four racing categories and one shootout, running at each Challenge Series event. Categories are Chevrolet Performance Stock, Street King, Rumble, Street Car Challenge and the Real Street Shootout. The top three competitors from Chevrolet Performance Stock, Street King, Rumble and the Real Street Shootout winner and runner-up will be invited to a special Chevrolet Performance Champions Dinner December 8 at the PRI Show in Indianapolis.

The Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) is once again hosting the Hot Products Showcase, taking place April 19–21 at the Spring Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet, Corral & Auction in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. This event is an opportunity for ARMO members to display one or more products at one of the largest gatherings of automotive restoration enthusiasts in the world.

Companies may submit multiple products to highlight in the Hot Products Showcase tent. The event is expected to feature nearly 100 aftermarket auto parts from about 40–50 manufacturers and suppliers. Companies may choose to display either new or featured products. Event participation is included with the annual ARMO membership dues.

Hot Products Showcase Set in Prime Location

The Hot Products Showcase tent is located in a prime spot on the Spring Carlisle grounds across from the event stage, ensuring that virtually all of the nearly 100,000 attendees pass through at some point during the event.
