The MPMC Media Trade Conference is a unique event that brings editors and reporters from all over the world together with racing and performance parts and accessories manufacturers.

Exhibitor applications for the 2018 Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council (MPMC) Media Trade Conference are open now through September 5, 2017. Only 100 exhibitor spots are available, and participants will be chosen using a random number lottery system.

The 2018 MPMC Media Trade Conference—to be held January 23–25, at the Embassy Suites Orange County Airport North in Santa Ana, California—is a unique event that brings editors and reporters from all over the world together with racing and performance parts and accessories manufacturers. Unlike a traditional trade show, where exhibitors meet with attendees on the show floor, the Media Trade Conference consists of individual, private, one-on-one interviews between media representatives and manufacturers. The event consistently serves as one of the largest platforms for manufacturers in the motorsports segment to promote their product lines while creating lasting relationships with the media.

Not an MPMC member but want to exhibit in the 2018 event? Join today. MPMC members must manufacture parts used in sanctioned motorsports events, and all applications for membership are subject to review.

Manufacturers who submitted an application but were not selected for the 2017 event are automatically guaranteed a spot in the 2018 event if they submit a new application by the September 5, 2017, deadline. Exhibitor selection is available only for MPMC-member companies.

Chevrolet engineers are currently polishing the final details of what is set to become the swansong of the C7 Corvette generation. We’re talking about the ’18 Corvette ZR1, which has recently been spotted in near production form entering Milford Proving Grounds.

The biggest question revolving around the upcoming supercar has to do with the contents of its engine compartment. Rumors about the heart of the upcoming ZR1 are split, with one of the most likely versions talking about the LT4 V8 animating the Corvette Z06 and the Camaro ZL1 receiving a larger supercharger for the newcomer. Other voices talk about the all-new LT5 DOHC V8, which has been confirmed for the ’18 Corvette, being the engine of the ZR1.

For one thing, the GM confirmation only regarded the 6.2L LT5 powering the a ’18-model-year ’Vette, but since we’re most likely looking at a naturally aspirated mill, this seems more suitable to the mid-engined C8 Corvette. This theory is not without its questions though, and that’s because the engine will land for the ’18 model year, while the C8 is expected to be introduced as a ’19 model. Regardless of the engine, the ’18 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 should feature the new 10-speed automatic that GM and Ford have developed together.
