 Hamburger’s Performance
LS Swap Filter Integration Systems
Hamburgers

When performing an LS engine swap into classic musclecars and trucks, the use of an aftermarket steel or fabricated aluminum oil pan is highly popular, and usually provides better crossmember, component and ground clearance than GM’s factory cast-aluminum pan. As a result, the oil-filter-mounting location, which is integrated into the factory GM cast pan, needs to be relocated. Hamburger’s Performance Products’ LS Swap Filter Integration Systems are designed specifically to address this concern faced by builders during their LS engine swap products.

All kits include a CNC-machined remote filter base, premium-braided hoses, fittings, hose ferules and filter nipples. Made in the USA.

KW Suspension
Coilover Kit V3—Mercedes AMG GT, GT S, Coupe, Without Adaptive Suspension
KW

Cutting-edge motorsports technology or more performance on the road. Like every suspension product developed by KW automotive and manufactured in Germany, the KW Variant 3 coilover suspension kit also provides a significant improvement on the road. Thanks to the high-quality dampers, springs and elastomer spring elements, pitching and rolling movements during load changes, such as evasive maneuvers, cornering, acceleration and braking are significantly reduced. The braking distances are also shortened. Thanks to improved support and feedback, drivers not only feel more confident, but also driving in everyday life is improved. With compression and rebound stage damping that can be set separately and independently of each other, the damper setup can be customized to your personal driving preferences or vehicle changes such as weight, tire characteristics or altered vehicle rigidity. True performance optimization is only possible with this unique, patented system.

For example, this allows the compression damping force to be increased and get more grip from the tires, to improve cornering behavior and reduce squat without simultaneously altering the rebound stage damping which is optimally matched to the spring rate—a scenario that results in reduced grip and the associated loss of performance. The KW Variant 3 INOX-LINE coilover kit is the ideal tool for performance-oriented drivers and experienced tuning enthusiasts who place a strong emphasis on the overall performance of their suspension. The Variant 3 features patented TVR-A and TVC-A technology, which provides separately adjustable rebound and compression damping. The extensive adjustment angel of the independently configurable rebound and compression make it easy to directly influence the steering behavior, directional stability, grip and handling characteristics for confident and repeatable results at the limit of driving dynamics.

By Richard Hail

This ’67 Ford Mustang built by Josh Gosnell made a bright-red splash as one of the Top 10 hot rods in the SEMA Battle of the Builders Competition at the 2021 SEMA Show.

A modern 5.0L Coyote engine fitted with a blower sits in a properly tucked and shaved engine bay. JC Customs valve covers and Hose Candy sleeves are the finishing accoutrements beneath the hood. A six-speed manual transmission lets the driver row through the 700 horses at their disposal.

Josh Gosnell

The entire front end is hand-built for a modern feel and the front and rear bumpers have been deleted. Some chrome remains with the Ringbrothers billet door handles, billet mirrors and a few appointments in the cabin. Behind the Billet Specialties half-wrapped steering wheel are Dakota Digital gauges, which are snugly fit into the custom dash.

Mark your calendars for January 23, 2022, to see more outstanding builds fight for the top spot in the SEMA Battle of the Builders competition only on HISTORY Channel at 9:00 a.m. (EST). Details are also available at www.semabotb.com or at SEMA’s YouTube channel.

The motorsports industry’s best and brightest products were honored at the 33rd annual Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show in Indianapolis earlier this month.

In all, nearly 30 exceptional parts and accessories were recognized by a panel of 12 judges representing traditional and new media, as well as sanctioning bodies and race tracks, from more than 340 entries in the PRI Show’s popular Featured Products Showcase. Entries are submitted by PRI exhibitors throughout the year, and are displayed in a dedicated area of Lucas Oil Stadium during the Show.

View the full list of winners here.

This year’s Featured Product Award judging, which took place on day one (December 9) of the three-day Show, identified outstanding products across eight separate categories—Accessory, Chassis, Drivetrain, Engine, In-Vehicle/Electronic/Telemetry, Race Fluid, Shop Equipment and Suspension—along with Judge’s Pick for overall excellence.

“There were lots of great new products, but (Turbosmart’s StraightGate 50) stood out to me because I have a newfound understanding of why it’s important,” said Alex Taylor, a popular social media personality who builds cars and drag races and served as one of this year’s judges. “With the precision and consistency that the StraightGate50 would allow, I can see it being a game-changer.”

Others agreed, as three more judges—Chad Reynolds from BangShift, Kevin Wells from Formula DRIFT, and Mike Galimi from ProMedia—also selected the StraightGate50 as their Judge’s Pick for 2021.

A total of 25 PRI exhibitors received either a Judge’s Pick or a Category Award through the program. The complete list of winners is below, and can also be found on the PRI website, with additional information about the Featured Product Awards.

Wilwood Disc Brakes
DOT 5.1 Rated Hi-Temp 570 Brake Fluid
DOT 5.1 Rated Hi-Temp 570 Brake Fluid

Wilwood Hi-Temp 570 racing brake fluid has been a staple of circle track, road racing, and autocross markets for decades. The new lower viscosity fluid was specifically formulated to allow modern ABS, stability control, and brake-based limited-slip systems to react faster. The DOT 5.1 rated formula retains the 570° F dry boiling point and other features of the previous DOT 3 fluid. It continues to be highly resistant to aeration and foaming for an improved pedal feel, lap after lap.

For racers and cars without ABS, the new lower viscosity also makes bleeding and flushing your brakes quicker and easier, getting you back behind the wheel faster.

Brass Knuckle
SmartCut BKCR4420 Gloves
SmartCut BKCR4420 Gloves

Brass Knuckle SmartCut BKCR4420 gloves offer A4 cut resistance with double-coated protection that combines slip resistance and permeation protection in a surprisingly dexterous glove.

These gloves deliver high-cut resistance without bulk. A foam nitrile top coat adds grip security for oils, petrochemicals, fuels and most acids. The sandy grip finish increases abrasion resistance and cut protection, all while being the most breathable and flexible glove in its class.

Over a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) shell goes a greener-formula water-based polyurethane (WBPU) coating as a palm and finger base coat that helps reduce penetration of liquids, including light oil. In this method, the polyurethane is infused into the glove with water rather than with potentially harmful chemicals such as dimethylformamide. The result is a superior, long-wearing glove that feels softer and provides excellent breathability, fit, and manual dexterity. It also reduces workers’ cumulative exposure to chemicals.
