Arnold Motor Supply Raises $25,000 to Support Automotive Aftermarket Families Through AACF
The Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF) has recognized Arnold Motor Supply for its support and generous $25,000 donation raised during the company's 36th annual channel partner outing in Spencer, Iowa.
The annual event welcomed supplier partners for a day of fellowship and recreation, with golfers gathering at Spencer Golf and Country Club and the leisure group traveling north to the Iowa Great Lakes.
The donation follows AACF's support of the Spencer region following floods in the area in 2024.
"After the 2024 floods, AACF's mission became very personal to us," said Eric Johnson, president and managing partner at Arnold Motor Supply. "They stepped up for our associates when help was needed, and we haven't forgotten that. Being able to come together with our supplier partners and raise $25,000 for AACF gives us a chance to return that support and help other aftermarket families when they need it most."
Several Arnold Motor Supply associates who received assistance from AACF following the devastating 2024 floods in Spencer were in attendance, according to the AACF, which also shared that their presence served as a powerful reminder that support from the industry can make a real difference for families recovering from an unexpected crisis.

Meet the Mongoose: GM Teases All-New HD Diesel Engine
GM dropped a teaser for the highly anticipated, all-new Duramax 8.3L Turbo-Diesel V8 that will be the heart of the refreshed '27 Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD. Watch the teaser above.
GM's Small-Block V8 Enters Its Next Generation
Two new V8 engines--which will help power GM's next-generation light-duty pickup portfolio in the '27 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500--are designed to provide full-size pickup truck customers with increased capability and performance from GM's sixth-generation Small Block architecture.
The new L76 5.7L and L78 6.6L V8 engines bring GM's next-generation small-block architecture to its light-duty truck lineup, joining the LS6 6.7L V8 developed for the '27 Corvette Stingray, Grand Sport and Grand Sport X. As with the LS6, which brought the 409ci displacement back to the small block engine family, the L76 and L78 herald the return of the 350ci and 400ci displacements, respectively. The new engines were developed with advanced modeling and simulation tool sets, plus proven hardware efficiency and durability testing, enabling small-block V8s to continue to meet regulations and exceed customer expectations, according to GM.
The layout of the new engines begins with an architectural element shared with more than 100 million small-block engines dating back to 1955: cylinder bore centers spaced at 4.40-in. intervals.
To generate more horsepower and torque from the new light-duty truck V8s, GM shared several new key enablers:
Increased displacement from 5.3L and 6.2L to 5.7L (350 ci) and 6.6L (400 ci), respectively, by increasing piston stroke 6 mm.
Higher compression ratio for more efficient combustion.
More airflow via larger throttle diameters.
New intake manifolds with tuned runners to manage the additional airflow.
The 5.7L V8 delivers 402 hp and 428 lb.-ft. of torque. No other truck in the segment tows more than GM's light-duty trucks, and the Silverado 1500 achieves a best-in-class maximum available tow rating of 13,700 lbs. when properly equipped.
The 6.6L V8 is the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in its class, with 481 hp and 501 lb.-ft. of torque.
"These new V8 engines advance GM's legendary small-block architecture with greater capability, more advanced technology and the strength of GM's manufacturing footprint behind them," said Tom Bishop, chief engineer for small block engines at GM. "They're engineered to provide truck customers the confidence and performance they expect from a GM V8."
Additional, significant sixth-generation features include:
A dual-fuel system that combines direct injection and port fuel injection for expanded operation in optimal power, efficiency and emissions windows.
New lubrication system featuring a continuously variable oil pump, on-engine oil cooler and reworked oil feed locations for additional oil pressure consistency.
By the time the next-generation trucks arrive at dealerships later this year, GM development teams expect to complete more than 1.5 million miles of real-world, on-road validation.
U.S. Representative Salud Carbajal (D-CA), representing California's 24th Congressional District, recently visited Magnuson Superchargers' Ventura facility to see firsthand how specialty automotive products are designed, manufactured and tested in his district.
Rep. Carbajal was welcomed by Magnuson leadership, including Dan Bronsten, the company’s vice president of operations, and SEMA's Victor Muñoz. During the visit, Rep. Carbajal toured Magnuson’s engineering and manufacturing operations and discussed the skilled workforce, advanced technology and regulatory compliance required to bring performance products to market.
"I want to thank Magnuson Superchargers and SEMA for the tour of Magnuson's Ventura manufacturing facility and the thoughtful discussion on the future of automotive technology," said Rep. Carbajal. "Central Coast companies like Magnuson consistently push the frontier of innovation forward, and Congress must ensure it supports their growth. I look forward to working together to advance policies that fuel the cutting-edge work happening right here in our community."
Magnuson, a longtime SEMA member, develops and manufactures supercharger systems for the automotive aftermarket and original-equipment applications. Its Ventura operations support engineering, machining, assembly and testing for performance vehicles, trucks and SUVs. The tour highlighted the company's investment in California manufacturing and the work required to develop products that deliver added performance while meeting emissions requirements.
The visit also provided Magnuson and SEMA with an opportunity to discuss issues facing specialty automotive manufacturers, including federal support for domestic manufacturing, workforce development, emissions certification and the time and investment required to develop compliant aftermarket products.
"We are proud to manufacture our components, assemble and test our supercharger systems here in Ventura, and there is no substitute for seeing firsthand the equipment and skilled work that go into what we build," said Bronsten, vice president of operations at Magnuson Superchargers. "We appreciate Congressman Carbajal taking the time to visit our facility, meet our team and learn how California manufacturers like Magnuson support innovation, quality jobs and the California economy."
"Facility tours give lawmakers an opportunity to meet the people behind our industry and better understand the engineering, manufacturing, and compliance work that goes into every product," said Muñoz, SEMA's senior manager for state government affairs. "We appreciate Congressman Carbajal taking the time to visit Magnuson and engage directly with an innovative automotive business in his district."
To host your federal lawmakers at your facility, contact Juan Mejia, SEMA's senior manager for federal government affairs, at juanm@sema.org.
