A recent SEMA survey indicated that business credit availability is among the biggest challenges faced by SEMA members today. Many with solid lender relationships have had terms altered and face tougher requirements. Recognizing this need, the SEMA Education Institute will be offering a number of sessions at this year's SEMA Show to address these challenges.

Of particular note is a session entitled, "Securing Credit: Meet the Experts," scheduled for Thursday, November 4, from 3:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m., at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Room N261.

"SEMA has assembled a group of financial institutions who are strong supporters of companies in the automotive aftermarket," stated Nathan Ridnouer, vice president of Councils and Membership. He continued, "Each of these lenders looks forward to the prospect of working closely with aftermarket companies to determine if they can help." Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the "SEMA Lender Connection: A Guide to Financial Alternatives and Solutions."

The panel will be moderated by SEMA member Wade Kawasaki, CEO, Exports International, and will include:

  • Ray Boyadjian, senior vice president, group manager western division middle market group, Comerica Bank
  • Agatha Fung, EVP, head of international banking division, EastWest Bank
  • Greg Grande, senior vice president & manager, Citizens Business Bank
  • Charles Rosen, executive vice president, Community Bank
  • Drucilla Garcia-Richardson, senior vice president/regional manager, Manufacturers Bank

This session will provide an invaluable resource for companies to learn what financial information lenders are looking for, what financing options are available and how new legislation will impact lending. Don't miss this opportunity to gain critical insight, ask specific questions and connect with lenders.

The Ford F-Series is in the running for SEMA's “hottest truck” award.

See which products and accessories are available for today’s hottest cars, trucks and SUVs by visiting www.sema.org/semaaward. The website includes a list of SEMA Show exhibitors that make products for the vehicle models most likely to be named the “hottest car,” “hottest truck” and “hottest 4x4-SUV” at the 2010 SEMA Show.

While only one model in each category (car, truck, 4x4-SUV) will be presented with the first-ever SEMA Award at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, there are nearly two-dozen contenders vying for the honor.

“Consumers want to know which cars and trucks are the hottest at the SEMA Show,” said Chris Kersting, SEMA president and CEO. “The SEMA Award will help guide them to this year’s most impressive cars and trucks and the great products that make them cool.”

The SEMA Award will be given to the vehicle model that exhibitors choose to trick-out, modify and display most often in their booths. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, November 2, at the SEMA Show.

In anticipation of the announcement, 21 vehicle models have been identified as leading contenders. A list of companies that manufacture products for each contender is available to help consumers see the many ways in which they can modify these cool vehicles. Click on each contender’s name below to visit their websites:

The SEMA Award winners will ultimately be chosen by exhibitors, based on the booth vehicles that are on display at the 2010 SEMA Show. Consumers can get involved by taking the SEMA Challenge, an online contest that invites enthusiasts to guess which vehicles they think will win the SEMA Award. Visitors can vote once in each category each week, until the end of October. For every correct vote, the entrant will be given one entry into a drawing for a five-day VIP trip to Las Vegas to attend the 2011 SEMA Show, complete with airfare and hotel accommodations.
