GM Sierra

This is the ’19 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Double Cab, caught while testing undisguised in Arizona.

GM recently debuted the ’19 Sierra 1500 at a special event in Detroit, but only included two trims, and only showed the vehicle in Crew Cab guise at their introduction—the Denali and SLT. Later, GM debuted the Sierra AT4 (Crew Cab) at the 2018 New York International Auto Show, but still failed to reveal the rest of the Sierra 1500 lineup. The SLE seen here has a unique grille, fog lights 86’ed, a revised rear bumper and is fitted with a traditional exhaust setup.

This particular SLE is equipped with the 5.3L V8, which will use an eight-speed automatic, while the 6.2L makes use of the new 10-speed automatic.

Expect additional trims to be shown in the following months.

Summit Racing Equipment and Power Automedia Partner in New Automotive Show “Horsepower Wars”

Power Automedia has announced a partnership with Summit Racing Equipment, which was tapped to be the official parts supplier of its new automotive show, “Horsepower Wars.” The new head-to-head web-based series features competition between rivals in one of four venues: the dragstrip, road course, engine dyno or chassis dyno. In the first episodes, “Pony Wars – Mustang vs. Camaro,” two teams are given either a ’17 Mustang GT or ’17 Camaro SS. The teams then receive an initial $5,000 budget for bolt-on mods, followed by $15,000 for a boost build off. The cars will compete in drag racing, road racing, chassis dyno and 60–0 braking. Summit will not only help supply products, but Summit’s pricing will be used as a guide for each team’s budget. Summit will also provide $7,000 of credit for each participant in the upcoming $10k Drag Shootout, in which teams are given 10 days to buy, build and then race a drag car.
