SEMA News—November 2020

One of a Kind

Since 1963, SEMA has been at the forefront of the automotive specialty-equipment market, creating programs that support companies from all market segments of the industry. Manufacturers, distributors and resellers from all over the world look to SEMA to help them grow their businesses and identify new products and trends. They’re not the only ones; media, such as those below, rely on SEMA to keep a finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the industry as well.

When electric-drive technology began to emerge, reporter Paul A. Eisenstein looked to SEMA in order to keep up with the latest trend. “A small cadre of SEMA members have begun exploring the opportunities battery power offers,” he wrote in describing the emerging market segment.

“[SEMA has] a number of programs to help expand the footprint of the industry,” wrote John Gilbert in his report on Education Days. The event is hosted by SEMA’s Hot Rod Industry Alliance council and provides manufacturers with the opportunity to share knowledge of their products with consumers.

Because SEMA represents the entire automotive industry, Car & Driver editors keep a check on the pulse of all SEMA programs. “SEMA is the United Nations conference of all things aftermarket,” quipped journalist Austin Irwin as he reported on the 2019 SEMA Show.
