Close to 900 HP: Ferrari 12Cilindri Versione Speciale
Ferrari is preparing a high-performance Versione Speciale of its 12Cilindri. While the automaker has not confirmed the name or performance specifications, expect the front-mounted 6.5L V12 to produce more than the current model's 830 hp, potentially approaching the 900hp mark. The range-topping coupe could debut in 2027, with a Spider variant likely to follow in 2028.
Topless and Electric: BMW i4 Convertible
All signs point to BMW retiring the electric 4 Series Gran Coupe next year, with no direct replacement planned. However, these exclusive spy shots from Munich suggest at least one new electric convertible is on the way.
Sources close to BMW claim the i4 Convertible, internally codenamed "NA3," will launch in 2028. It will expand the Neue Klasse 3 Series EV lineup, joining the recently revealed i3 Sedan and the upcoming i3 Touring. Like today's gas-powered 4 Series Convertible, the new i4 is expected to offer four-passenger seating.
Because it was designed from the ground up as an EV, the i4 Convertible won't inherit the packaging compromises of an internal-combustion platform. Engineers have been able to stretch the wheelbase by pushing the wheels farther toward the corners while shortening the overhangs, creating additional interior space that benefits a 2+2 convertible.
Unlike the previous-generation F33 hardtop convertible, the i4 Convertible will reportedly feature a fabric soft top, similar to today's 4 Series Convertible. While hardtops have their fans, automakers generally favor soft tops because they're lighter, occupy less space when folded and are less complex to manufacture.
The arrival of the i4 Convertible isn't expected to signal the end of the gas-powered 4 Series Convertible. Rumors suggest the G23 will remain in production at BMW's Dingolfing plant through mid-2029, alongside the G83 M4 Convertible. It's still too early to know whether BMW plans to develop an M version of the electric convertible.
BMW could also introduce the rumored i4 Coupe, codenamed "NA2," allowing the automaker to spread development costs across multiple body styles. Because these models share much of their architecture with the i3, many of their design and engineering details are likely already established.
Forever Young: Range Rover Sport Receives a Facelift
After reliability concerns and last year's production pause, Land Rover is looking to refresh its lineup with a mix of new models and mid-cycle updates.
The Range Rover lineup is among those receiving attention. Recent spy shots revealed the fullsize Range Rover testing with heavy camouflage, pointing to a redesigned front end and an updated interior inspired by the latest Velar prototypes.
Now, new spy photos confirm the Range Rover Sport is also receiving a mid-cycle refresh, likely arriving for the '27 or '28 model year.
The heavily camouflaged prototype, photographed during testing in Germany, features revisions to the grille, front bumper and headlights. Additional interior updates are expected, while the rear appears set to receive redesigned taillights, reshaped dual-exhaust outlets and subtle updates to the rear bumper.
