Support SEMA Cares: Build a Pinewood Car at Home

By Ashley Reyes

While the SEMA Cares Pinewood Drag Races will not take place in person this year, SEMA members can still incorporate the joy of automotive activities with their loved ones by purchasing a pinewood car to build at home.

By purchasing a pinewood, SEMA members are able to give back to the charities that best reflect the values and interests of the automotive specialty-equipment industry. All in-person fundraising events have been postponed until 2021, which is why SEMA Cares needs the support of the industry now more than ever.

“It’s not just another program that SEMA offers, it’s such an impactful program that really develops into the children of the future,” said incoming SEMA Chairwoman Kathryn Reinhardt. “These are children that are going to be consumers in our market. They’re also going to be possible employees. We’re looking for people who can still donate, and people who can purchase cars.”

Each build-at-home donation kit includes a pre-shaped pinewood car or truck body, wheels, axles and weights. Want to customize your pinewood and make it your own? Add paint, stickers or other design elements. Buy your Pinewood.
