Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation Appoints New Board Trustee

Lynn Parker, president of the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF), has announced the appointment of David Young to its board of trustees. Young is vice president of Valvoline LLC and oversees the U.S. light-duty national account, heavy duty and Canadian businesses. Over his three-decade career, he has held leadership roles with Valvoline's channel partner, national accounts, marketing and Valvoline Instant Oil Change businesses.

Automotive Industry Veteran Siegfried Tigges Launches New Sales Agency

Siegfried (Siggi) Tigges, a career employee of Hella KGaA Hueck & Co. in Germany and Hella Automotive Sales in Peachtree City, Georgia, has formed his own sales organization and consultancy. Called S.A.T. Sales and Consulting LLC, the company will begin by representing Speed Autoteile of Berlin, Germany, in the North American market and will also serve clients in the automotive, heavy-duty, mining and industrial markets. Tigges has experience and expertise as a sales, marketing and product-management executive in both the aftermarket and OEM sectors of the aforementioned markets. He spent more than 40 years with the Hella organization in a variety of key marketing and sales roles and was an integral part of the management team at Hella Automotive Sales for the past 28 years. While at Hella, Tigges served in several executive capacities, including vice president, Canadian aftermarket sales, mining, and heavy duty U.S.; vice president of Canadian sales – aftermarket, special OE, mining; national sales manager Canada; and director of product development and marketing for North America.

Permatex Partners with PowerNationTV Engine Power for ’19 Dodge Challenger Sweepstakes Build Project

Permatex has announced a partnership with PowerNationTV. The collaboration will take place during the PowerNationTV “Engine Power” show and will feature the build of a ’19 Dodge Challenger 5.7L Hemi V8. At the start of the build, Permatex and PowerNationTV will conduct a sweepstakes for the Challenger and award it to a fan with a sweepstakes drawing after the build is completed. The Permatex and PowerNationTV Dodge Challenger Sweepstakes began August 1 and will end April 30, 2020. Fans can learn more about the sweepstakes and how to enter by visiting the Permatex website. The Permatex ’19 Dodge Challenger will be built during three episodes of “Engine Power’s” new season by hosts Mike Galley and Pat Topolinski. The vehicle will feature a color-match ProCharger kit, General Tire’s G-MAX RS tires, MagnaFlow exhaust and KW Coliovers. The first episode of “Engine Power” featuring Permatex and the ”19 Dodge Challenger will air August 18, with subsequent episodes airing on October 6 and October 20.

Bilstein Motorsports Welcomes Engineer Kevin Rumley

Bilstein is partnering with motorsports engineer Kevin Rumley. Skilled and well respected in the racing community, Rumley specializes in automotive and motorsports component design, vehicle dynamics and technical consulting. Rumley has extensive experience in developing patents and in working with both GM and Ford to design technical systems. He will collaborate with Bilstein head of motorsports Aaron Morey and the team based in Mooresville, North Carolina. In 2015, Rumley was named crew chief of the year/car owner champion of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series driver Jonathan Davenport. His involvement in the sport goes to the core of its modern structure, having developed and CAD designed Dirt Late Model chassis for well-known builder Longhorn Chassis.

ODYSSEY Battery Becomes Official Battery of Dream Giveaway Car Sweepstakes

EnerSys has announced a sponsorship agreement with Dream Giveaway, a national program developed by DG Group Marketing Solutions designed to raise funds on behalf of non-profit organizations to fulfill their mission of providing grand-prize vehicles to lucky winners across the nation. Through this sponsorship, EnerSys will donate an ODYSSEY battery to be installed in every vehicle that is part of the sweepstakes. Each year, 12–15 vehicles are purchased for use in the program and since its inception in 2008, Dream Giveaway has raised millions of dollars toward awarding more than 70 winners with custom cars, trucks, motor homes and college scholarships. So far, the ODYSSEY battery from EnerSys has been installed in three cars as part of the grand-prize sweepstakes: a ’65 Corvette, a ’68 Mustang and a ’70 Chevelle.

Nexen Tire America Inc., in partnership with the Purple Heart Foundation, announced that retired Army Master Sgt. Brian Porter is the recipient of the Nexen Hero 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport S as part of the Nexen Hero program. Porter is the second Purple Heart Medal recipient to receive a custom vehicle built by Nexen Tire as part of its initiative to honor the nation’s heroes. In both programs, Nexen Tire received thousands of nominations from across the country which highlighted incredible stories of heroism, patriotism, and sacrifice.

“It's an unbelievable honor to be selected by Nexen Tire and the Purple Heart Foundation as the recipient of the Nexen Tire Jeep Gladiator. To me, this custom Jeep is more than just a cool vehicle—it's a symbol that helps bring awareness to the thousands of combat-wounded veterans across the nation,” said Porter. “Like me, these brave veterans have suffered unbelievable injuries on the battlefield, and it's humbling to see organizations like Nexen step up and join the Purple Heart Foundation to help share our stories to help improve the lives of wounded veterans.”
