Madigan spent the past 50 years in the midst of the high-performance automotive culture. Over the last 10 years, Madigan had teamed up with Ed Justice Jr. and ejje Publishing Group to produce three books that contributed to the recorded history of racing and the automotive world. At the same time, he continued to contribute to noted automotive publications.
