Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Heats Up Atlanta Motor Speedway

Team Fragola from Peach County High School earned first place with a time of 18:05 this past weekend at the Summit Racing Atlanta Motorama at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The teams are stacking up with six of the 11 qualifying events completed for the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge. To date, more than 30 teams will make travel plans to the national Dual Championship playoffs at the SEMA Show and PRI Show later this year.  

This past weekend at the Summit Racing Atlanta Motorama at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Team Fragola from Peach County High School earned first place with a time of 18:05—the best time of the season so far. Coming in second was Team Holley from Forsyth Central High School (20:15). These two Georgia-based teams also moved into first and second place for the 2016 playoff qualifiers.

Other qualifying teams included Team Weld Racing from Forsyth Central High School with 28:39, and Team Firestone from Sequoyah High School clocking 28:47. Three teams that also made the cut were Team Performance Quotient from Forsyth Central High School (33:20), Team Royal Purple from Americus Sumter High School (33:21) and Team Hedman Hedders from Sequoyah High School (33:37).

This weekend (April 23), teams will compete in Exton, Pennsylvania, at the Universal Technical Institute Pennsylvania Qualifier.
