Ryan Tuerck Takes the Victory in Formula DRIFT Round 3: Unchartered Territory

Formula DRIFT presented by GoPro entered Orlando Speed World for the first time for Round 3: Unchartered Territory. Ryan Tuerck in the Retaks/Maxxis Scion FR-S took the event victory and moved into second place in the standings.

The semi-finals was a rematch from the last event with defending champion Chris Forsberg in the NOS Energy Drink/Hankook Tire Nissan 370Z and Ken Gushi in the GReddy Racing/Hankook Tire Scion Racing FR-S going head to head. Forsberg was awarded the win over Gushi and was set to meet Tuerck in the Finals, but unable to continue through the competition due to the complications with his car, Forsberg was forced to bow out giving Tuerck the victory to move him into second place in the standings. Gushi moves up to fourth place and Forsberg into third place overall while securing both their second consecutive podium finishes.

The 2015 Formula DRIFT season will continue to Round 4: The Gauntlet, June 26–27 at Wall Speedway in New Jersey.

Scott Speed Earns X Games Gold; Sebastian Eriksson Earns Bronze

Scott Speed earned an X Games gold, Steve Arpin earned silver and Olsbergs MSE rookie Sebastian Eriksson scored a bronze last weekend. The 22-year-old Swede joins Olsbergs MSE as a Supercars driver in the United States for the first time this season. He was never far from the top of the leader board in practice, qualified fifth, and won his heat race to advance directly to the Final. It was the 23rd X Games medal for Olsbergs MSE.

The X Games competition is a standalone event that does not score championship points. The Olsbergs MSE team is expected to have both Red Bull/Bluebeam Ford Fiesta ST cars ready to race again in two weeks for the second and third rounds of the 2015 Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship in Daytona, June 20–21.
