The auto hobby's "holiday" is finally here! Recently, the U.S. Senate passed Senate Resolution 493 (S. Res. 493) at SEMA’s request designating this Friday, July 11, 2014, as "Collector Car Appreciation Day (CCAD)." As a result, thousands of enthusiasts and related businesses throughout the country will celebrate the worldwide event for the fifth consecutive year. Hopefully, you are planning to take part in your own way.

Through a video Public Service Announcement, media personality Courtney Hansen is promoting the celebration once again. A lifelong "gearhead," Hansen is well known for television roles that have included host of "Overhaulin'," Spike TV's "Powerblock" and Velocity Television Network's "Vinsetta Garage." Featuring her own ’57 Ford Thunderbird, this video may be posted by everyone using the following link: http://youtu.be/j4CgY04mD-0.

The SEMA Action Network (SAN) will post a recap of all events nationwide in an online gallery found on the celebration's official homepage. To that end, please send us your event photos, including any that highlight the presentation of the U.S. Senate resolution. E-mail your pictures to SAN Director Colby Martin at san@sema.org with "2014 CCAD Event Photos" as the subject line. Include your event details (name, date, city, state and host) in your message as well.
