Timbren Industries announced that Jim Betournay was named vice president of sales. He will take over all responsibility for directing the company’s sales efforts. Betournay brings extensive experience in the North American automotive parts business and the company is excited for his appointment.

CargoGlide has hired Alan Kuehl as its national sales manager. Kuehl, a seasoned, versatile executive with a highly successful track record in sales and marketing, has worked in the automotive industry for the past 15 years.

“We are very fortunate to have Alan join us,” said David McInturf, company president. “Alan will work with our current dealers and distributors to increase our nationwide network along with our Canadian presence, as well as oversee our marketing department. I am very much looking forward to working with him.”

CargoGlide is a manufacturer of truck bed slide solutions for work trucks, pickups and SUVs. 

Beau Boeckmann, Dave Shuten Named to National Rod & Custom Car Hall of Fame
Galpin Auto Sports President Beau Boeckmann, and lead rod and custom builder Dave Shuten, were inducted into The National Rod & Custom Car Hall of Fame in Afton, Oklahoma. Boeckmann was recognized as a car collector and Shuten was honored with the builder/owner award. Boeckmann grew up in the car business always loving custom cars. Galpin Ford has widely been known for customizing vehicles for more than 60 years and pioneered many innovations in the industry.
 
As Galpin’s lead hot rod and custom builder and restorer, Shuten has worked on a number of projects—both as a designer/builder of his own creations and restorer of historic Galpin-owned customs—that helped secure his place as one of the leading experts of custom cars in the country, with his work featured in Hot Rod, Rod and Custom, Street Rodder and Kustom Kulture, among others.

The official dates for the 2014 Holley LS Fest are September 5–7, 2014. Noted as the largest all-LS celebration in the country, the event will be held at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The LS Fest continues to be the only event in America where participants can bring their custom LS-powered vehicles and participate in autocross, drag racing, dyno challenge, engine swap challenge, show-n-shine, the 3S Challenge, countryside cruise, drifting and more. All of these performance disciplines can be enjoyed in one venue over the course of the three-day event.
 
The event is for any vehicle with a GM LS engine installed between the framerails. The 2013 LS Fest brought in everything from LS swapped rock crawlers, import drift cars, street rods, trucks and much more. More information is available at www.lsfest.com.
