Geico Continues Team Lucas Partnership Through 2014
Geico is continuing its "Presenting Sponsorship" agreement with Team Lucas through 2014. The pact will showcase GEICO insurance policy benefits before large audiences at more than 300 motorsports events across the United States. Team Lucas is a grassroots advertising and marketing platform created by Lucas Oil that reaches hundreds of millions of consumers a year. Many of these events are televised nationally resulting in hundreds of hours of additional network coverage. For 2014, Team Lucas events will include the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series presented by GEICO, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League, Lucas Oil Modified Series presented by Loan Mart, Lucas Oil Drag Boat Series, Lucas Oil Speedway, Lucas Oil AMA Championship Motocross and the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Falken Tire Scores Firsts in Two Ultra4 Race Series Classes and a Podium at King of the Hammers
Falken Tire took first in the Every Man Challenge (EMC) Modified Class and first in the new Spec Class at the King of the Hammers (KOH) and Ultra4 off-road race series. Falken also earned a second-place podium in the main event—the KOH. John Currie and Gerald Lee in the Savvy Off Road/Currie Enterprises JK-R EMC Class pulled off the hat trick with their third consecutive victory, winning by a margin of just under two hours.

Team Falken’s newest driver Jessi Combs brought the Falken Tire-liveried spec vehicle to first place in the 4700 Spec Class. Combs is the first woman to win a class in Ultra4 Racing. Four Spec Cars finished in the top 10 overall positions of the Every Man Challenge (EMC) race, which boasted more than 70 entries. Six of the first 10 cars to finish the EMC were on Falken tires.

Driving for the GenRight team, Tony Pellegrino finished the main event in second place overall. One-hundred-fifty-eight vehicles started the race covering a distance of approximately 198 miles, though only 32 finished. Falken also earned two podium positions in the Stock Class with Ben Verozza of VP Racing/GenRight taking second and Richard Gauthier of Petty Cash Racing in third. Matthew Messer, driving the Crawl Magazine Ultra4, took second/third place in the new Legends class.

CBS Sports Network to Televise Entire 2014 SCORE World Championship Series
SCORE International’s Roger Norman has announced that CBS Sports Network will televise the entire five-race 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship series. Each one-hour telecast will air the month following each event, starting with this month’s season-opening 28th Annual Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 desert race. Round 1 of the five-race 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship series will be held in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico, February 27–March 2. In 2014, two SCORE races will be held in the United States and three in Mexico. This deal provides the most expansive television coverage package in the 41-year history of SCORE. The regular telecast time slot for the SCORE events will be Sunday nights at 9:00 p.m. (ET). Further, a sixth show will cover the 2014 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 qualifying event, held November 4–7, in conjunction with the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship series will open its season by visiting Mexico for the first of three annual SCORE Baja races. The race itself will be held along the azure waters of the Sea of Cortez in San Felipe.

TORC: The Off-Road Championship Reaches Multi-Year Agreement with NBC Sports for Race Broadcasts and Behind-the-Scenes Programming
TORC: The Off-Road Championship has partnered with NBC Sports to air extensive TV coverage. The multi-year agreement will include broadcasts of all racing events and behind-the-scenes episodes featuring TORC teams and drivers competing motorsports series. The multi-year commitment by NBC Sports represents a significant expansion of its TORC coverage beyond the broadcast of selective events in 2012 and 2013. TORC now joins other motorsports series on NBC Sports, including Formula One, NASCAR and IndyCar. In addition to race broadcasts, a series of behind-the-scenes episodes in "docu-reality" style will bring viewers deep into the world of TORC.

The 2014 TORC series event schedule includes races at the following venues:

  • April 25–26: Charlotte, North Carolina (Charlotte Motor Spedway)
  • May 17–18: St. Louis, Missouri (Gateway Motorsports Park)
  • June 28–29: Crandon, Wisconsin (Crandon International Off Road Raceway)
  • July 19–20: Bark River, Michigan (Bark River Off Road Raceway)
  • August 5–6: Sturgis, South Dakota (Buffalo Chip Powersports Complex)
  • August 30–31: Crandon, Wisconsin (Crandon International Off Road Raceway)
