Brian Deegan Within Grasp of Global Rallycross Championship Title After Fifth-Round Race
Motocross athlete and Metal Mulisha founder Brian Deegan narrowed the gap for the crown in the Global Rallycross Championship (GRC) series last weekend, finishing second place in the latest race. After dropping the lowest race score in the series, Deegan is only six points shy of teammate and rival Tanner Foust in grasping the title.

In Round 5 of the GRC, Deegan’s second-place finish seats him in the second-place position overall in the series. Deegan claimed a heat race win and extra bonus points to put him within striking distance of the championship title. With 66 points total, after dropping the lowest race score, Deegan’s six-point deficit to Foust’s 72 creates a season-ending duel for the Championship October 30.

After realizing the narrow point gap between himself and Tanner, Deegan stated, “It all comes down to me and Tanner at the SEMA Show, and this is where a champion will be decided, at the biggest platform in the auto industry.”

The GRC Championship title is in reach for Deegan or Foust to claim; the latest round set the stage for too large a point differentiation for any other participant to win. The championship race will take place at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Tuesday, October 30, and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

Speed Energy BIGFOOT #19 to Debut in Aruba
After a successful testing session Saturday, September 29, BIGFOOT #19—the Speed Energy BIGFOOT monster truck—will debut at the Don Elias Mansur Ballpark in Aruba the weekend of October 26–28, 2012. Veteran driver Larry Swim will battle for the weekend title.

While everyone waits for the new Concussion Motorsports chassis for BIGFOOT #21 for long-jump Record Holder Dan Runte, Swim will fill in with BIGFOOT #19 until his move into BIGFOOT #18. Swim's prior ride, BIGFOOT #16, is being retired after its six-year life, including a major crash in Indianapolis in September.
