Jeffrey Brown Hired as Associate Publisher of Motor Trend and Automobile
Source Interlink Media hired Jeffrey Brown to fill the roles of associate publisher of the company's Motor Trend and Automobile brands and serve as vice president of integrated sales for its consumer automotive group. According to Source Interlink Media, Brown will be responsible for driving integrated solutions and managing the sales team for Source Interlink’s Consumer Automotive Group. He will report directly to Eric Schwab, senior vice president/group publisher of the Motor Trend Automotive Group. Prior to joining Source Interlink, Brown most recently served as a regional sales director with Forbes Media. Brown has 14 years of experience selling digital, print, events, branded entertainment and integrated marketing solutions and has worked for Fortune 500 media companies, including Forbes, Yahoo! and The Hearst Corporation, in addition to launching several Internet start-ups.

John Kahut was named senior vice president of independent sales for CARQUEST U.S. According to the company, Kahut began his career with CARQUEST in November 1986 as an account executive in Lakeville, Minnesota, and shortly thereafter became warehouse manager of the Lakeville Distribution Center. He served as operations manager in both Nashville, Tennessee, and Marshfield, Wisconsin. Kahut spent more than seven years as an independent store sales manager in Albany, Georgia, and Marshfield, Wisconsin. “Kahut brings 36 years of experience and leadership in the automotive aftermarket,” said CARQUEST President Mike Broderick. “In his many years with the company, he has gained broad knowledge and expertise in sales, operations and supply chain, which makes him the perfect match for this position.”

Eric Miltsch to Manage New Product Development for DrivingSales
Eric Miltsch was named director of product strategy for DrivingSales. According to the company, Miltsch will help enhance and develop the company's product and services suite. Prior to joining DrivingSales, Miltsch directed successful digital experiences for Auction Direct USA. Miltsch also wrote for WhyBuyUsedCars.com, Auction Direct's used car blog and his personal blog, WhatDidEricSay.com, which DrivingSales says is one of the first blogs focused on location-based marketing concepts and strategies.

Sammy “The Flying Flea” Tanner Named Grand Marshal Ascot Flat Track Reunion
Dirt track racer Sammy “The Flying Flea” Tanner was named Grand Marshal of the Ascot Flat Track Reunion, which will be held May 12 at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum. Tanner was the first winner of Ascot’s National Championship Half-Mile Race in 1959. He also won an incredible 408 regulation AMA races and 67 Trophy Dashes. Sammy will be joined by numerous riders, including Grand National Champions Gene “Burrito” Romero and Gary Scott, for a day of wild and crazy Ascot memories. Proceeds from the event support the Aid To Injured Riders and the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum—both are 501(c)3 not-for-profit organizations.
