Oscar Tucker Named 2011 WyoTech Dream Maker
Oscar Tucker, an instructor in the Motorcycle Technology program at WyoTech-Daytona, earned the 2011 WyoTech Dream Maker Award. The award, presented by WyoTech’s parent company, Corinthian Colleges Inc., recognizes instructors who go above and beyond to deliver the best education in the classroom, get students involved on campus and in the community, and help students get on the right path to achieve career goals. In addition to being an outstanding instructor, Tucker, also graduated from WyoTech-Daytona in 2008. During his time as a student he was recognized as an Eagle Tech, nominated for the National Technical Honor Society, and was recognized as his graduating class’ Outstanding Student. Tucker is also a member of the American Motorcycle Association and received DynoJet Dynamometer and Power Commander training.
General Tire Honors Dempster Tire for 70 Years of Service
Dempster Tire was recently honored by General Tire for 70 years of service and commitment to the brand. The family-owned Dempster Tire has been serving the community of Middletown, Ohio, since 1942 when Russell Dempster started the business. Russell's son Dick purchased the business from his father in 1972 and in 2009, Richie Dempster took over for his father Dick and now runs the company.
United Future's Scott Holmes Named Mobile Ambassador
Yokohama Tire Corp. announced that its digital marketing agency of record, United Future, was recognized with an industry award. United Future’s founder and president, Scott Holmes, was named Mobile Ambassador at the recent Mobile Excellence Awards (MEA) in Los Angeles, California. United Future helped Yokohama launch strategic digital initiatives this year, including a customer-first website, an integrated social media campaign and interactive glass windows at the 2011 LA Auto Show.

Matt Lundh Promotred to Beck/Arnley Director of Program Groups
Beck/Arnley promoted Matt Lundh to director of program
groups and strategic markets. In this position, Lundh calls on and
facilitates sales growth with program groups. He reports to Beck/Arnley
Vice President of Sales Heath Breedlove. In addition to his new
position, Lundh will continue to serve as Beck/Arnley’s North &
Midwest regional manager. From 1999–2010, he worked for General Parts
International Inc./CARQUEST, where he held various roles including
district manager for the Central region, regional director of store
operations for the Charlotte, North Carolina, region and regional
director of store sales for the Central region.
SMP Honored by the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance Inc.
SMP was recently honored for its outstanding performance in the fill rate, logistics support and training support categories by the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance Inc. during the annual shareholders’ winter meeting. SMP reports that it is the tenth straight year the company has received the training support award from the Alliance shareholders. SMP was chosen for its overall excellence in technician, counterperson and sales training. SMP held nearly 500 professional training seminars with over 5,000 paid attending technicians in the United States and Canada.
