Want to know more about automotive enthusiasts? SEMA’s Enthusiast Lifestyle Study can help.

This new study from SEMA Market Research gathers information from nearly 1,800 enthusiasts across the United States. The lifestyle survey collected information on: vehicles driven and accessorized; accessories purchased or planned for purchase; and hobbies and interests.

The study targeted readers of a cross-section of automotive magazines (30 in all) to get a sample of enthusiasts representing a range of automotive niches. Survey respondents were asked to tell us about the primary vehicle they spend time and money accessorizing, as well as some of their automotive and non-automotive interests.

The results of the survey show that sports cars and pickups are particularly popular vehicles to accessorize among enthusiasts. Most have purchased their main enthusiast vehicle used and within the last four years. And nearly half of the enthusiasts say that they do all installation work themselves.

The report, along with all of SEMA’s market research reports, is available on www.sema.org/research and is free for SEMA members. Download a copy of the 2011 SEMA Enthusiast Lifestyle Report
