The 2010 SEMA Show is packed with educational sessions, networking opportunities, keynote discussions and—thanks to sponsor UPS—a bit of NASCAR excitement. On Tuesday, November 2, UPS will welcome UPS NASCAR driver David Ragan to its SEMA Show booth #11937. SEMA attendees can enter a drawing at UPS’ booth for a chance to win a photo opportunity and autograph session with Ragan during the show.

“NASCAR is wildly popular with UPS customers and America at large,” commented Kristin DeBates, UPS marketing manager serving customers in the automotive industry. “Knowing SEMA members’ enthusiasm for NASCAR, we’re thrilled to offer Show attendees the opportunity to win a photo and autograph session with UPS’ NASCAR team driver David Ragan.”

Rising Star Making a Difference On and Off the Track

A 25-year-old native of Unadilla, Georgia, Ragan joined the UPS Racing team driving the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford for the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. In his first season behind the wheel of the UPS Ford, Ragan had two top-10 finishes and six top 15s.

In his time serving as UPS’ NASCAR driver, Ragan has made an impact on and off the racetrack. He also partners with UPS to help teens learn the importance of practicing safe-driving skills. UPS, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Ragan have partnered for the second consecutive year to present UPS Road Code—a comprehensive safe-driving course to help teach teens across the nation defensive-driving skills.

UPS and NASCAR

In addition to sponsoring the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford, UPS is also the official express delivery company of NASCAR and provides members of the NASCAR family exclusive access to UPS shipping services during race week.

“For those involved with NASCAR, a logistics model that ensures all shipments arrive to the track on time every week is crucial to the success of that day’s race,” said DeBates. “UPS takes that same commitment it applies for NASCAR racing teams and leverages it for all of our customers. For SEMA members in particular, we can help them understand how logistics can be a competitive advantage for their businesses.”
