Racing News: Kyle Busch Burns Up the Snowball Derby With Win

SNOWBALLS: NASCAR driver Kyle Busch won the prestigious Snowball Derby late-model stock-car race Sunday evening at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.

ON THE GRID: The FIA has granted the Sauber (formerly BMW) Formula One team a spot on the 2010 grid.

AMERICAN TESTERS: Up-and-coming American drivers J.R. Hildebrand, the Firestone Indy Lights champion, and Alexander Rossi each tested Formula One cars last week.

STAYING ON: Peak Performance Motor Oil has extended its partnership with the IZOD IndyCar Series.

THE DUDE: Veteran sprint-car driver Danny Lasoski, Casey’s General Stores, team owner Lonnie Parsons and crew chief Barry Jackson will remain together for the 2010 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series season.

GOODYEAR: Williams Grove Speedway near Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, has committed to Goodyear tires for its 410 winged sprint-car division.

MORE TIRES: Continental Tire will sponsor the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge sanctioned by the Grand Am Road Racing Series. The traveling showroom stock racing series was previously known as the KONI Sports Car Challenge Series.

SEPARATE WAYS: Cory Kruseman has driven Andy Bondio’s midget in 11 of the last 12 Chili Bowl Nationals midget car events, but this season the pair will field separate entries. Garrett Hansen will drive for Bondio, with Kruseman fielding his own car.

EXTENSION: Venom Energy Drink will remain with Andretti Autosport as primary sponsor for third-generation driver Marco Andretti.
