Racing News: Toyota Pulls Out of Formula One, Renault May Follow

TITLE SPONSOR: The IRL IndyCar signed a six-year agreement worth more than $10 million per year for IZOD to sponsor the series. The new name is the IZOD IndyCar Series.

LEAVING: Toyota is pulling the plug on its Formula One racing program while Renault, too, is considering leaving the world’s most popular racing series.

A RIDE: Jessica Zemken will drive a Tony Stewart Racing sprint car in selected events next season, but will not race a full schedule in any individual racing series.

OUTLAWS:
Donny Schatz was crowned World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series champion for the fourth straight season, while Josh Richards earned his first WoO Late Model Series championship.

NEW GROUP: Veteran racing mechanic Don Kenyon has created the United States Speed Association to sanction midget, Kenyon car and Legends car action throughout the Midwest.

TOP DOG:
With two victories in three NASCAR races and running out of fuel while leading the third, Kyle Busch jumped to the top of the National Speed Sport News Power Rankings. The rankings appear weekly in America’s Motorsports Authority.
