Racing News: Hendrick Confirms "Opportunity" for Danica to Drive Partial NASCAR Schedule

DANICA TO HENDRICK? NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick confirmed to NSSN there is an opportunity for IndyCar Series driver Danica Patrick to drive a partial schedule with his team through its relationship with JR Motorsports, which is owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr.

BIG MONEY: Greg Hodnett earned $50,000 for winning the Morgan Hughes National Open sprint-car race at Williams Grove Speedway in Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, Scott Bloomquist banked $40,000 for topping the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals at Iowa’s Knoxville Raceway.

GOODYEAR: The World Racing Group has entered into a multiyear agreement with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. to be the Official Tire supplier to the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. The agreement begins with the 2010 season opener.

NO POWER: Team Penske still has not developed a plan for what to do with its third Indy car driver, Will Power, next season. Power was hired to fill in for Helio Castroneves earlier this year and ran a limited schedule until suffering season-ending injuries in an August crash at California’s Infineon Raceway.
