SEMA and CAR Report: OEM Powertrain and Platform Changes That Will Impact Your Business

In a multi-phased series of specialty-equipment industry forecasting reports, SEMA and the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) will provide insight to help members increase the understanding and awareness of vehicle technology challenges and opportunities to support their business development and planning efforts.

Phase II of the reports, to be presented in a SEMA webinar on August 13, will cover vehicle manufacturer plans for powertrain technologies, platforms and economic forecasts that impact the specialty-equipment and performance aftermarket. The webinar on September 17 will feature Phase III of the report, which outlines the major economic drivers of the U.S. automotive market and their potential impact on SEMA-member companies.

The webinars are moderated by John Waraniak, SEMA vice president of vehicle technology, and presented by CAR’s Brett Smith, assistant director, manufacturing, engineering, technology.

SEMA presented the research findings and released advanced copies of Phase II and Phase III of the multi-phased series of specialty-equipment forecasting reports at the annual State of the Association meeting in Pasadena, California, on August 1.
