Movers & Shakers: PPG’s Denise Cade and Regis Becker; Keith Hishon; Saleen Reveals Its 2010 Mustang Plans

PPG Industries appointed Denise Cade to assistant general counsel and secretary. Cade became corporate counsel, securities and finance in 2007, and with the new appointment, she adds duties as corporate secretary to her responsibilities for securities, corporate governance, finance and treasury matters. The company also appointed Regis Becker to chief compliance officer. With the appointment, Becker adds PPG’s worldwide Export Control Compliance Program to his existing global security and compliance responsibilities.

MC2 opened a new office in Birmingham, Michigan, to support the company’s clients in the automotive industry. The new office will be led by Senior Vice President of Sales Keith Hishon. His responsibilities include the development of automotive program directives, event objectives and working through contractual agreements.

 2010 SMS 460 Mustang
 The 2010 SMS 460 Mustang will launch later this year.

Steve Saleen and SMS Supercars unveiled the first illustrations of the 2010 SMS 460 Mustang at the Mustangs Northwest Roundup event in Seattle. The SMS 460 Mustang carries a 4.6L V8 with 470 hp and 427 lb.-ft. of torque, while the SMS 460X Mustang’s meatier offering pushes 655 hp and 600 lb.-ft. of torque from the enlarged 5.0L V8. The SMS 460 is in the final tooling and testing stages and is planned for launch later this year. Steve Saleen was also presented with the Lee Iacocca Award for dedication to excellence in perpetuating an American Automotive Tradition during the roundup event.

Red Line Synthetic Oil Corp. has selected Kahn Media to assist with public relations initiatives, which includes targeted media outreach, new product debuts and social media marketing. Kahn Media will also promote Red Line’s motorsports programs, including drag racing and sports car road racing.

The International Speedway Corp. (ISC) launched a new automotive aftermarket brand and license platform called DAYTONA Elite. Named after the Daytona International Speedway, the new platform will provide multiple brand applications to potential licensees. To help develop the program, ISC is working with BrandAdventure led by racing-industry veteran Steve Boguski.

The Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Saltillo manufacturing facility, located in Coahuila in northeastern Mexico, has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification from the International Organization for Standardization. The certification verifies that the facility has established and implemented a quality management system.
