COUNCIL CUP GOLF CHALLENGE DETAILS AND OTHER SEMA COUNCIL AND COMMITTEE NEWS

Representatives from all of SEMA’s councils will once again hit the greens for the Council Cup, a friendly golf competition among council members to prove who has the better hackers as they swing their way towards the “coveted” SEMA Council Cup Perpetual Trophy. The competition takes place during the annual SEMA Charity Golf Tournament, set for Friday, July 25, at the Strawberry Farms Golf Course, Irvine, California. Whether you’re a pro or a rookie, the event promises to be a good time, and it’s for a good cause—proceeds benefit Child Help and Victory Junction Gang Camp.

Details on the Council Cup

A special “Council Package” price of $2,000 (a $300 discount) is available for Council Cup competitors. The package includes four rounds of golf at the tournament and dinner for four at the Annual Gala Banquet and Charity Auction, to be held that evening at the Irvine Hyatt Hotel. At least one active Council member must participate in the golf tournament foursome to be eligible for this special pricing offer.

Any foursome consisting of two or more active council members will automatically be entered in the Council Cup Challenge representing their council. (Be sure to indicate on your registration form which Council you are representing.) The package includes four rounds of golf at the tournament and dinner for four at the Annual Inaugural Banquet and Charity Auction, to be held that evening at the Irvine Hyatt Hotel. New Chair-Elect
Kyle Fickler of Aeromotive Inc. was elected to the position of MPMC Chair-Elect during a Select Committee meeting held on January 25, following the annual MPMC Media Trade Conference. Fickler is a current member of the MPMC Select Committee and will take over duties as Chair-Elect on July 1. On that same date, current Chair-Elect Bill Floyd becomes Chairman of MPMC when Lisa Chissus’ two-year term as MPMC Chairperson ends.

2009 Media Trade Conference News
MPMC members are encouraged to look for a “Save the Date” reminder postcard some time in April. Exhibitor applications for the 2009 MPMC Media Trade Conference are scheduled to be mailed out in mid-June. In the meantime, stay tuned to the MPMC website at www.sema.org/mpmc for the latest updates.
