The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) postponed the start date for a
rule requiring employers to display a poster informing workers of their
right to unionize and bargain collectively.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is impounding illegal imports
of noncompliant high-intensity discharge (HID) conversion kits, light
sources and ballasts. The CBP is working with the National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to pursue enforcement.
The Bonneville Salt Flats is where racing began. From the early 20th century, legendary racers have sought to break land speed records or achieve a personal best. In addition to its professional racing programs, Bonneville remains at the heart of every racer’s dreams. For decades, the Salt Flats have decreased in size, strength and thickness because salt has been removed by an adjoining potash mining operation and not adequately replaced.

Despite being approved by bipartisan and overwhelming majorities in the
California Assembly and Senate, legislation that would have given
small-business owners a voice on the California Air Resources Board
(CARB) was vetoed by Gov. Jerry Brown.
All California automobile service providers are required to check tire
pressures for every vehicle maintained or repaired at their facility as
of September 2010. The law applies to auto maintenance/repair providers
but not to auto-parts distributers/retailers, auto body/paint
facilities, auto glass installers or wreckers/dismantlers.
Legislation that would give small-business owners a voice on the
California Air Resources Board (CARB) was passed by the California
Assembly and Senate and sent to Governor Jerry Brown to be enacted into
law. Introduced by Assemblymember Curt Hagman, who represents the
Diamond Bar district in which SEMA headquarters is located, the bill
would create a requirement for one CARB member to be an owner within the
past five years of a small business.
The California legislature voted in favor of a one-year delay on
collection of sales taxes for online transactions made within the state.
Earlier this year, the legislature passed a law requiring online
retailers with subsidiaries in California to collect sales taxes from
their customers.
President Obama has submitted legislation to Congress designed to
encourage American small businesses to hire new workers and expand
operations. The $447 billion plan includes cutting the payroll tax in
half for American companies on the first $5 million in payroll.
The U.S. Senate has approved legislation to overhaul the federal patent
system. The bill had already been approved by the House, and the White
House has indicated President Obama will sign it into law.
