NHRA Funny Car icon John Force will be a special guest at the 2013 NHRA Breakfast.

NHRA Funny Car icon John Force—the 15-time NHRA world champion and a winner of an NHRA-record 137 national events—will be a special guest at the 2013 NHRA Breakfast at the 2013 SEMA Show.

Force will make a special appearance to offer a salute to many of his old pals from the PA Booth as NHRA honors the “Legends Behind the Microphone.”

The popular annual event at the SEMA Show, which has showcased many of the NHRA’s legendary drivers, team owners and other characters within the sport, has grown into a must-attend affair for SEMA Show attendees, and this year’s program promises to continue that tradition.

Force will take the stage with some of the most iconic voices and personalities to ever hold a microphone during the past six decades of racing in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. Dave McClelland, Bob Frey and Alan Reinhart will share some “behind-the-scenes” stories of NHRA drag racing and the special moments they have witnessed throughout the years.

The NHRA Breakfast at the SEMA Show will be held Wednesday, November 6, from 7:30 a.m.–9:00 a.m. at the Las Vegas Hotel (LVH), Ballrooms A&B. It is open to all registered SEMA Show attendees. A continental breakfast will be served. The panel will be moderated by current ESPN2 lead announcer and long-time NHRA television personality Dave Rieff. A special tribute is planned for the late Steve Evans, including a video presentation.

This event is open to all registered SEMA Show attendees at no cost; however, tickets are required. To order your event ticket or register for the Show, visit www.SEMAShow.com/register and click "Add Event Tickets."

The shooters at KGP Photography caught a GM test group running Camaro Z/28 prototypes against the Mustang Boss 302. This is the same day that Chevy released a video showing the two cars being tested side-by-side at GM's MRC road course, proving that the video is more than a PR stunt. The track testing depicted in the video can be confirmed as the real deal within GM's real-world, day-to-day Z/28 testing program.

GM's take is that the Boss 302—not the Shelby GT500—is the quickest Mustang on the track, and the Z/28 is presented as at least 4.0 seconds faster around GM's MRC. Regardless of the veracity of those times—and despite questions as to how well the GT500 would have done in the same test—at least Detroit's musclecar wars are still in the fullest effect. Things will only get more interesting with a modernized, newly realized Mustang ready to gallop onto the scene by the middle of next year. This will be fun.

The SEMA Show's Online Marketing Conference (OMC) includes workshops and lectures from leading industry experts.

The 2013 SEMA Show Educational Program includes a special, one-day conference dedicated to helping auto-related businesses succeed in social media and online marketing. Taking place Monday, November 4, 2013, (the day before the official opening of the SEMA Show), the Online Marketing Conference (OMC) includes workshops and lectures from leading industry experts.

View the Online Marketing Conference event schedule.

Top-rated presenters from the previous conferences will return to share what’s new in the rapidly changing world of online marketing, while several new speakers join the program to educate participants about content management and online optimization.

Show organizers strategically schedule the Online Marketing Conference to take place the day before the SEMA Show’s opening.

“It’s convenient for participants to come in a day earlier than the Show, and they’re able to roll in their travel costs and get more out of the trip,” said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA vice president of communications and events. He continued to explain that when asked what topics they most wanted to see covered in the SEMA Show educational program, both buyers and exhibitors responded with marketing/advertising, particularly Internet marketing.

The 2013 program includes three keynote addresses: Survival of the Fitts! Navigating (and Dominating) the Great 2013 Online Marketing Buzz Kill, Powered by ETTN, presented by Marty Weintraub of aimCLEAR; Twitter, presented by Doug Mooney of Automotive Twitter; and Hidden Secrets of Amazon, Powered by ETTN, presented by Bryan Eisenbert of BryanEisenberg.com.

Throughout the day, a variety of sessions are available. The sessions are grouped into two tracks to make it easy for participants to determine which is most appropriate for them: a Fundamentals Track or an Intermediate Track.

Visit the SEMA Show website for more information about the specific tracks or to register for the conference.
