The Professional Restylers Organization (PRO) has created an online portal to facilitate submissions of OEM letters or service bulletins. These submissions will be reviewed by SEMA staff with the intent of gaining a greater understanding of any ramifications these policies may pose for member businesses. SEMA is committed to maintaining a productive dialogue with its OEM partners.

“SEMA’s PRO council brings together the restyling industry and works hard to strengthen it,” said Mike Bacon, chairman of the PRO OEM Relations Committee. “The OEM Relations Committee will work to support SEMA’s effort in building a beneficial dialogue between this industry and the OEMs.”

To submit a letter or bulletin, please use the form available at OEM Bulletins. If you have any questions, please contact Bill Wolf, SEMA’s senior director of OE relations at 909-978-6739.

A prototype for the Porsche facelifted ’15 Cayenne has been photographed during its first round of tests on the famed Nürburgring. The updated Cayenne gets more angular headlights and reshaped frontal intakes, along with new LED strips that are now intergrated into the wide-set intakes, much like on the latest Porsche 911.

A new PHEV Cayenne is expected to bow with this mid-cycle facelift (actually due in calendar year ’14 as a ’15 model). The PHEV Cayenne is expected to follow the course charted with Porsche's Panamera Sport Turismo concept that bowed at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, pairing a 3.0L direct-injected, supercharged V6 with a 100hp electric motor, generating a combined 420 hp. A twin-turbocharged V8 diesel is also planned for the U.S. market.

For one week each year, the SEMA Show gathers the largest collection of outfitted, upgraded dirt shredders, people haulers and street machines that exist with the specialty-equipment industry. With the intent of turning heads, sparking ideas and igniting the imagination, these vehicles serve as mobile canvases for technicians and product engineers to realize their creative visions and provide a visual representation of what the industry and its companies are all about.

A new photo collection of the vehicles that helped make the 2012 SEMA Show a visual extravaganza are included each week in SEMA eNews. This week features a collection of FIATs.

Competing with retail chains is a daily challenge facing independent dealers. Providing customers with the products and services offered by larger, major retailers—coupled with the added personal attention of an independent business—can boost foot traffic drastically and keep customers coming back.

SEMA members participating in GE Capital Retail Bank's CarCareONE program understand how a consumer financing program allows them to put their company's name in the wallet of every customer. These members recognize and appreciate how CarCareONE enhances and increases the opportunities to communicate with preferred customers more often. Here's how it works:

  • CarCareONE gives SEMA members the ability to offer instant-credit consumer financing to all of their customers.
  • The name of the company participating in the CarCareONE program is embossed on every credit card of approved customers, essentially creating a personalized consumer-financing program for the business.
  • In addition to providing custom consumer financing, businesses can market to their customers more effectively. CarCareONE is the first step to establishing loyal customers and becoming a go-to, reliable source for specialty-equipment purchases.
CarCareONE's Consumer Financing Program is one of the many benefits available to SEMA members. Companies that don't currently offer a financing program are encouraged to contact the GE Capital Retail Bank National Sales Team at 866-209-4457 and find out how better customer relationships are built using consumer financing.
