Knowing the types of SEMA Show booths available will help exhibitors select the booth that best fits their goals for the Show.

With the Priority Space Selection Process for the 2015 SEMA Show taking place May 4–22, exhibitors may want to begin planning what to feature in this year’s display. For decisions such as where to set up products, whether or not to conduct product demonstrations or to highlight a display vehicle, knowing the booth types will help companies plan accordingly.

Island Exhibit: An island exhibit is surrounded by aisles, and these exhibits must be at least 20x20 ft. There are other dimensions available, with the largest being 50x60 ft.

Linear Exhibit: A linear exhibit—the most common SEMA Show booth—is generally arranged in a straight line and has neighboring exhibitors on both sides, with one side exposed to the aisle. These booths are 10x10 ft. and are offered up to 10x40 ft.

Peninsula Exhibit: A peninsula exhibit is the “end cap” of booth space. It’s surrounded by aisles on three sides and must be no smaller than 20x20 ft. Additional dimensions are available up to 50x60 ft.

Each configuration is unique and offers its own advantages. The size selected on the booth-space application is what will be assigned during the Space Selection Process. Changes to size can be made only after the space allocation process.

The shooters at KGP Photography have provided their best looks yet at new, less-camouflaged prototypes for the next Mini Clubman S (above) and the hotter Clubman John Cooper Works (below). These latest shots reveal the styling details that will separate the Clubman from the rest of the Mini lineup, as well as the differentiation between the specific models within the Clubman range.

KGP's shooter says the Clubman, while similar to the three- and five-door Mini models, looks wider than its compatriots. We also get a fresh new look at the four conventional rear doors, along with the returning split Dutch Doors at the tail end.

Several bills introduced in West Virginia in 2015 failed to be approved by both houses of the legislature prior to the adjournment of the session.

  • A House Concurrent Resolution to designate the second Friday in July as West Virginia Collector Car Appreciation Day was approved by the full House of Delegates, but stalled in the Senate.
  • Based on SEMA model legislation, a bill that would have allowed West Virginia’s vehicle hobbyists to install and use aftermarket modified exhaust systems that meet a 95-decibel limit was not given committee consideration.
  • Legislation to eliminate the requirement that roof-mounted off-road light bars be covered when vehicles are operated on roads and highways was approved by the House Roads and Transportation Committee and referred to the House Judiciary Committee where it did not receive committee consideration before the session concluded. The bill also would have allowed owners of vehicles to install or use such lighting devices without obtaining approval from the Commissioner of Highways.
  • Legislation to make it a criminal offense to disturb the peace with "noise from an exhaust system of any vehicle that is not equipped or constructed so as to prevent any disturbing or unreasonably loud noise" was not given committee consideration. The offense would have come with a fine of up to $1,000 per occurrence and six months in jail.
  • Legislation to make the minimum appraised value of a motor vehicle $700 and the appraised value of an antique motor vehicle $5,000 for purposes of property taxes did not receive committee consideration.
  • Legislation to exempt all motor vehicles from personal property taxes did not receive committee consideration.
  • Legislation to provide that the appraised value of an antique motor vehicle is no more than $3,000 for purposes of property taxes did not receive committee consideration.
