MPMC General Membership Meeting

The Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council (MPMC) kicks off PRI week with a general membership meeting. All current members and prospective members are welcome to attend for lunch and hear from council leadership on their initiatives for the year ahead and learn about volunteer opportunities. There will also be time for open discussion and brainstorming on relevant topics that motorsports parts manufacturers face today. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at the Indiana Convention Center, room 243.

MPMC Hall of Fame Reception

Always an important part of PRI week, the MPMC Hall of Fame immortalizes those who have made a significant contribution to the MPMC or to the motorsports parts manufacturing segment as a whole. Nominations are collected from the MPMC general membership each year, and an MPMC Hall of Fame task force votes on the final selection of inductees based on stringent criteria. The MPMC Hall of Fame inductees will be honored during an evening reception Friday, December 11, 2015, from 5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. at the Indiana Convention Center, Room 243. Attendees will have the chance to network over drinks and hors d'oeuvres. This year, the council is inducting two extraordinary individuals—former MPMC Chairman Ron Johnson and motorsports broadcasting icon Dick Berggren.

Twelve professional hot-rod builders participated in the 2015 Builder's Challenge.

HRIA Builder’s Challenge Auction Results Announced

The Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) gathered for its annual Industry Reception, Wednesday, November 4, at the SEMA Show. Each year, up-and-coming builders have the opportunity to showcase their skills by building a Pinewood hot rod. These one-of-a-kind hot rods are displayed at the ARMO/HRIA shared booth and are brought to the reception to be auctioned off to benefit SEMA Cares children’s charities. This year, the auction raised $5,885. A special thank you to those who donated and took home a Pinewood. The reception’s table sponsors donated a total of $8,750 to the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund and were honored at the event. Special thanks go to:

TORA Reception Raises $ for SEMA Cares Charity

The Truck and Off-Road Alliance (TORA) held its annual Industry Reception Wednesday evening of the SEMA Show. The event consisted of networking, food and beverages and the much-anticipated Pinewood Drag Races. Dozens of Pinewoods were on display for patrons to purchase or rent to participate in the races for a chance to be named 2015 Winner. This year, SEMA’s CEO Chris Kersting participated and came out ahead while Rob Kelley of Truck’n America was named the 2015 runner-up. All proceeds go to SEMA Cares children’s charities. The 2015 races raised nearly $2,200, and $5,250 was raised in connection with the TORA featured vehicles from Westin Automotive, Truck Accessories Group, BOLT Locks by Strattec and A.R.E. Accessories.
