As part of the Performance Warehouse Association’s (PWA) Stay Connected Information Center (SCIC), SEMA Show exhibitors will be able to have their products videotaped on the Show floor during the 2011 SEMA Show. The videos, which will be presented as a virtual sales presentation with John Lundberg conducting interviews, will be included in SCIC—an online source that provides jobbers and retailers with comprehensive product information, including current catalogs/price sheets, new-product releases, tech tips and merchandising aides.

“PWA is here to provide the jobber/retailer with every sales tool possible to maintain their business in a very competitive economy,” said John Towle, PWA executive director.

The program helps manufacturers gain additional exposure for their products.

“We’re always looking for opportunities to help exhibitors promote their products, whether it’s before, during or after the Show,” said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA vice president of communications and events. “The videos are one way that exhibitors will be able to maximize their products’ exposure.”

SCIC is provided by Performance Industry Publishing—a company owned and operated by industry veteran Fleet Thompson. For details about the program or to learn more about how to participate, contact Thompson at 480/840-1067 or fthompson@yourmotorizedworld.com.

The Media Center serves as a "home base" of sorts for editors and reporters and is open at least two days prior to the Show's official opening.
Media registration for the 2011 SEMA Show is on the rise and outpacing numbers for the event's past several years. The Show annually attracts more than 2,500 members of the working press, domestic and international, looking to highlight the specialty-equipment market's latest innovations. Currently, there are nearly 800 members of the media who have been qualified and registered for the Show, which is a significant increase compared to the same time period last year.

Not only do members of the media scour the Show floor seeking the new products, unique vehicle builds, latest business tools and advanced hardware for the shop, but also there are several programs in place that help exhibitors reach out to media even when conducting business in their booths. In addition to attracting well-known automotive-related magazines and publications, the Show annually grabs the attention of major media outlets and newspapers, such as USA Today, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

While at the Show, exhibitors are encouraged to take advantage of the available Media Center by supplying press kits and releases so media representatives will be able to obtain a copy easily and efficiently. The Media Center serves as a "home base" of sorts for editors and reporters and is open at least two days prior to the Show's official opening, providing exhibitors the opportunity to circulate product and company news prior to and during booth setup.

Here are some examples of the media attention the Show obtains as provided in SEMA News.
Members of the media who have not yet secured credentials for the Show, and exhibitors that need to buy a booth, can get the process started now by using the newly overhauled SEMA Show website, www.SEMAShow.com. Exhibitors: Here is a list (PDF) of promotional opportunities that will help get media and buyers thinking about your company before, during and after the SEMA Show.

Shot of Pinewood Cars
With a donation of only $95, you can personally sponsor one of the children's pinewood vehicles.
Recently children living in Childhelp facilities in Beaumont, California, and in Lake of the Woods, Virginia, participated in the annual SEMA Build. These special pinewood mechanics represent a touching narrative of young enthusiasts who have suffered neglect and abuse, attempting now to recover and rehabilitate their lives under the care of the incredible staff at Childhelp chapters throughout the United States.

The recent SEMA Builds allowed the children to put their own personal touch and style on dozens of pinewood vehicles. The miniature wooden vehicles, each displaying an assortment of colors and depicting a variety of themes, are now available for sponsorship. With a donation of only $95 you can personally sponsor one of the childrens' vehicles and help contribute to two very worthy charities—Childhelp and Victory Junction.

Your generous gift will qualify a pinewood vehicle to compete at the Pinewood Drag Races on Friday, July 29, 2011, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Renaissance Hotel in Long Beach, California. Held in conjunction with the SEMA Installation Banquet & Gala Fundraiser, the finals will occur during the cocktail reception shortly before the banquet begins.

eBay Motors has returned for its third consecutive year as the presenting sponsor of the Pinewood Drag Races. Please join eBay motors with a contribution in support of the SEMA Cares children's charities. Mike Spagnola, SEMA Board member and long-time supporter of the SEMA Cares committee explains just how successful the Pinewood Drag Races can be when members of the specialty-equipment industry step-up and sponsor a pinewood vehicle.

"The idea of this event is to build cars along with the kids, and then those cars are auctioned at $95 each," said Spagnola. "Last year we raised over $23,000, just racing these cars."
