PRO is committed to helping members build mutually profitable relationships with vehicle dealers.

In today’s market, competition for a dealer’s business can be stiff and selling to vehicle dealers can be challenging. It stands to reason that to be successful, your company needs to excel and differentiate itself from the pack.

The key lies in developing and implementing an effective sales strategy, and in having a sales team that has the skills and know-how to make savvy sales presentations and build lasting, value-based relationships with your customers. With step-by-step guidelines and techniques aimed at helping your company build a more successful dealer-direct sales strategy, the PRO Sales Training Manual is your handy guide to developing a more professional and effective approach to selling accessories dealer-direct.

Perhaps you and your sales team need help refining sales techniques or knowing how to overcome objections to turn a cold call into a hot sale. Or maybe you want to gain a better understanding of the inner workings of a car dealership and how to qualify and identify the key decision maker. All of this and more is contained in the manual.

Beginning with an overview of the key elements of a sales-marketing strategy, the manual contains a chapter-by-chapter outline of what it takes to affect a more professional approach to selling cars dealer-direct. From understanding how to make an effective sales presentation and refining your negotiation skills, to the importance of product knowledge and how to position your company for success, the sales-training manual offers hints and tips critical to the day-to-day operation of your business.

Through the collective experience of accessory professionals, the Professional Restylers Organization (PRO) has developed this member-only resource (and many others) to help your business succeed and prosper. PRO represents the collective interests of all SEMA-member companies serving the restyling and accessory market—including manufacturers, warehouse distributors, manufacturer's reps, restylers and installers. As a member company, you can work with PRO to build solid, mutually beneficial relationships with OEMs and new- and used-vehicle dealers, participate in ongoing efforts to elevate the level of professionalism throughout all sectors of the industry, enhance customer satisfaction and have a voice on issues that impact the industry.

For one week each year, the SEMA Show gathers the largest collection of outfitted, upgraded dirt shredders, people haulers and street machines that exist with the specialty-equipment industry. With the intent of turning heads, sparking ideas and igniting the imagination, these vehicles serve as mobile canvases for technicians and product engineers to realize their creative visions and provide a visual representation of what the industry and its companies are all about.

A new photo collection of the vehicles that helped make the 2012 SEMA Show a visual extravaganza are included each week in SEMA eNews. This week's collection features a collection of Cadillacs.

Several SEMA-member companies are teaming up with XPLORE, Motive Club and Toyota of Escondido to give away a H.E.R.O.E.S. charity vehicle.

XPLORE is teaming up with Motive Club and Toyota of Escondido to give away H.E.R.O.E.S. (Help-Encourage-Rescue-Organize-Equip-Serve) charity vehicles with all of the profits donated to worthy causes.

To kick off the program, Motive Club is giving away a new $65,000 Stage 4 XPLORE FJ Cruiser provided by Toyota of Escondido to benefit Harvest America Crusades. Motive Club members are automatically entered to win. While no purchase is necessary to enter to win, Motive Club membership for $12 per year delivers discounts for online shopping at major retailers and give-away promotions for vehicles and many other prizes provided by sponsors.

“Giving away this very special FJ Cruiser is a great way to help to raise awareness and support for Harvest America Crusades at stadiums in Anaheim, August 23–25, and in Philadelphia, September 28–29,” said Ron Flint, president of Motive Group.

The H.E.R.O.E.S. XPLORE FJ Cruiser features systems and accessories from many SEMA-member companies, including ARB 4x4 Accessories; winch, rock sliders, bull-bar, rear bumper and snorkel from Warn Industries; aluminum wheels from Method Race Wheels; a polished stainless-steel cat-back performance exhaust from MagnaFlow; and Katzkin seats with suede inserts that are designed for optimum off-road performance. Additional companies providing products include OME Suspension, IPF Lighting and tires from BFGoodrich.

Stage 4 is XPLORE’s most exclusive trim level and includes features, such as a matte clear paint over the factory army green. The traditional Land Cruiser white roof is complemented by a custom matching white grille. Brushed metal XPLORE badges, not plastic, adorn the doors inside and out. The ARB roof-top tent sleeps two comfortably and serves as an alternative to tent-camping on the ground.

The engineering team at SRT is now working hard on updates for the performance-tuned version of the Dodge Challenger, as evidenced by this prototype caught running on public roads.

Challenger prototypes are running with camouflaging bras on their front fascias, suggesting that it is included in the three refreshed SRT models that were listed in Chrysler's product plan that was made public early this year.

The shooters at KGP Photography have evidence that shows the prototype with a unique exhaust set-up—new piping and round tips that sit differently in the rear fascia. New exhausts usually mean that new engines—or at least tweaked versions of existing engines—are in the works.

The front fascia behind the Challenger's front-end camouflage looks deeper and more aggressive than the nose on the current Challenger. It could be possible that we are finally looking at the Challenger that will fully join the horsepower war that's taking place between Ford and Chevrolet. The horsepower-rich Shelby GT500 Mustang and Camaro ZL1 have now been joined by Chevy's surprise New York unveiling of the Camaro Z28.

In an interview with Motor Trend last week, SRT boss Ralph Gilles promised that SRT "will soon have an answer" for the Camaro Z/28. Such an "answer" must undoubtedly mean a horsepower boost for the Challenger (and would hopefully include some weight-saving steps for the portly, 4,100-lb. coupe).

Industry rumors have been swirling for a while now that the folks at SRT have turned to Eaton to supply a supercharged Challenger to finally give them an answer to the top musclecars from Ford and Chevy straight from the factory in 2013. Power estimates are currently pegged at somewhere between 540–570 hp, which puts it in similar territory as the ZL1 and GT500, and exceeds the Z/28's 500 hp. The result of these changes to the Challenger might be what we are seeing here, now running on the streets of Detroit in prototype form.
