	Governor Bobby Jindal signed into law legislation to annually designate the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the second weekend in July as "Louisiana Collector Car Appreciation Weekend."

Legislation to annually designate the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the second weekend in July as "Louisiana Collector Car Appreciation Weekend" was signed into law by Governor Bobby Jindal.

Earlier this year, the SEMA Action Network (SAN) announced these dates to mark the fifth commemoration in what has become an annual event to raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society. SAN is again working to secure a U.S. Congressional resolution to recognize the day’s significance.

Nothing's more satisfying than helping a child in need, and what better way than dedicating some of your personal time to help the wonderful kids from SEMA Cares charities—Childhelp and Victory Junction. The final Pinewood build day will be held June 10, in Randleman, North Carolina, at Victory Junction, and volunteers are needed to assist the kids with building, painting and racing their cars and trucks. 
 
Some of these Pinewood cars will be auctioned off and raced at the SEMA Installation Gala Friday, July 18, 2014, at 12:00 p.m., at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel & Convention Center in Pomona, California. Get involved and make a difference in a child's life—volunteer for a SEMA Cares Pinewood build day.  
 
Proceeds from the races will benefit SEMA Cares charities, including Childhelp and Victory Junction. Childhelp assists abused and neglected children by providing counseling and programs in a safe and secure living environment. Victory Junction provides the camp experience for children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses who otherwise would not be able to go to camp.
