More than half of the 60,000 buyers at the 2014 SEMA Show attended the Show on Friday.

The industry is preparing for a busy and productive Friday at the 2015 SEMA Show, with interest and activities growing on the fourth and final day of the annual trade show taking place Tuesday–Friday, November 3–6, in Las Vegas.

“We’re seeing buyers stay longer and take advantage of every opportunity to connect with exhibitors at the SEMA Show,” said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA vice president of communications and events. “These are buyers who are focused on getting the most out of the SEMA Show and, in fact, we know that buyers who are at the Show for the entire duration tend to be more successful than those who come for just one day.”

The SEMA Show is a four-day trade show featuring more than 2,400 manufacturers of automotive parts and accessories. Buyers from all over the world come to the SEMA Show to discover new products and connect with exhibitors in an exclusive business-to-business environment.

More than half of the 60,000 buyers at the 2014 SEMA Show attended the Show on Friday, and one out of every three buyers spent at least 21 total hours at the Show throughout the four days (out of a possible 31 total hours).

“There are lots of activities and features at the SEMA Show to help the industry discover new trends, find new products, learn new skills and connect with new and prospective business partners,” said MacGillivray. “Friday is no different. In fact, Friday is the culmination of the jam-packed week and caps off an amazing program.”

MacGillivray notes that all exhibitors are present and ready to do business on Friday, from 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Additionally, features such as the New Products Showcase, Ford Out Front, SEMA Central, West Coast Customs Experience, Optima Alley and Baja 1000 Score Exhibit are also in operation on Friday. Many celebrity appearances, demonstrations and workshops also take place on Friday.

SEMA Ignited—the official SEMA Show after-party—was introduced last year, providing Showgoers with another great reason to stay in Las Vegas on Friday evening. Consumers are able to purchase tickets to SEMA Ignited, but credentialed SEMA Showgoers may attend at no cost. The 2015 SEMA Ignited takes place directly across from the Las Vegas Convention Center in the Gold Lot, making it easy and convenient to Showgoers to walk to the event.

The ’17 Ford Super Duty F-250 and F-350 are expected to get more modern with aluminum construction in the cab and bed, using lessons learned from the ’15 F-150. That, along with a long-rumored 10-speed automatic planned for numerous RWD Fords in the coming years, should help to make the new Super Duty more efficient than the outgoing vehicle.

Expect this new truck to adopt more in terms of looks with the latest F-150, even if spy photos show a significantly more blocky appearance in keeping with the Super Duty line. The latest driver-assistance features and infotainment should now be offered on these trucks.

Power will still primarily come from a 6.2L V8; no word if Ford's Ecoboost technologies will make their way up here.

The ’17 F-350 Super Duty will debut at the Texas State Fair in September. Expect to see the Super Duty on sale next year as a ’17 model.
