The Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour will attract more than 4,500 collector cars and grab the attention of more than 75,000 spectators.

The SEMA Action Network (SAN) is hitting the road to let the motorsports community know about the “Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports (RPM) Act”—the Congressional bill that clarifies that street vehicles may continue to be converted into race cars used solely on the track.

The road trip begins with the 22nd annual Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour—a seven-day, seven-city tour that runs from June 11–17 and attracts more than 4,500 collector cars and 75,000 spectators. SAN representatives will be stationed by the flamed Hot Rod bus, where they will explain why the motorsports industry is at risk, update visitors on the current status of the bill and let the community know how they can help protect the racing industry.

“There is a lot of information about the RPM Act circulating and we’re looking forward to connecting with the industry to explain what the RPM is and why it is important,” said Steve McDonald, SEMA vice president of government affairs. “The bill is critical to guaranteeing that the future of the racing industry is protected.”

The dates and stops of the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour are as follows:

June 11 – Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, Louisiana
June 12 – Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas
June 13 – Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas
June 14 – Traders Village in Grand Prairie, Texas
June 15 – Remington Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
June 16 – Kansas Pavilion in Wichita, Kansas
June 17 – Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas

Find more information about the tour. Those in attendance are invited and encouraged to stop by the SAN booth to learn more about the RPM Act.

The first SEMA Export Fair, to take place July 27 in the SEMA Garage, will include the opportunity to participate in roundtables and seminars featuring seasoned exporters, top overseas buyers and other key stakeholders.

SEMA members are encouraged to join SEMA’s first Export Fair to participate in roundtables and seminars featuring seasoned exporters, top overseas buyers and other key stakeholders. The Export Fair, co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce, is scheduled for Wednesday, July 27, at the SEMA Garage in Diamond Bar, California.

Who should attend: Companies that want to grow their businesses through exporting. The program is designed to offer current exporters the opportunity to exchange best practices, and discuss strategies for overcoming problems that cost them time and money, whether it be identifying the right mix of products based on the vehicles on the road in the targeted market; the most cost-effective and expedient way for getting your products to overseas customers; getting paid; and protecting your trademarks, patents and copyrights. The program is also designed for those new to exporting who would like to learn how to get started in growing their customer base to reach some of the estimated 90% of buyers located outside the United States.

In addition, each attendee can participate in a 30-minute private, confidential meeting with an IPR attorney to learn how to take the appropriate steps to protect their patents and trademarks. Time slots for private meetings with the attorneys are limited. Meetings are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration fees are $50 per person and include breakfast/lunch/happy hour.

When: Wednesday, July 27, 2016, from 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (PDT)
Where: SEMA Garage: 1577 S. Valley Vista Dr., Diamond Bar, CA 91765
