For the 2nd consecutive year, the SEMA Show will host a Student Career Day. In 2016, the inaugural event experienced tremendous industry support with 42 companies introducing their businesses to more than 650 high-school and college students from across the United States. The event serves to highlight the diversity of career opportunities in the automotive industry and promote brand awareness, while addressing the immediate employment needs of the participating companies.

Kimberly Johnson from ididit LLC, who participated last year “highly recommends that all SEMA member companies participate in SEMA Career Day!” Johnson continues, “It was exciting to meet the next generation of our industry and see their enthusiasm for what we do. They were all well prepared, confident and educated about our companies.”

From a generational perspective, the early days of the automotive specialty-equipment industry were exciting times. Pioneering names became the legendary “garage innovators” of speed and performance products who ultimately changed not only how racers competed on the track but also the ways average consumers everywhere drove on the street. Their inventions and out-of-the-box thinking reshaped ideas of performance, convenience and appearance for the automotive and powersports categories, often raising the bar and setting vehicle trends for the OEMs themselves. In the process, they firmly established the foundations for what is now a mainstream industry worth an estimated $41 billion.
