The ’19 Chevy Camaro will retain the six-speed manual (at least in some trims). Rumors have been swirling about a seven-speed manual (borrowed from the C7) mated to the 6.2L Camaro, since Autoguide discovered documents from CARB earlier this year.

The Camaro will get an extensive mid-cycle facelift. Based on the camo on this prototype, the front end on standard models will receive some comprehensive changes from the A-pillar forward. From the shots, it appears that the Camaro will get a more modern, yet aggressive look up front. Around back is a revised rear fascia, along with new taillights.

To keep pace with the Ford Mustang, expect minor engine enhancements and more widespread use of the 10-speed automatic that is now offered on the ZL1. More technology features lifted from the Cadillac ATS are also likely to appear.

There is still the rumor of the return of the Z/28 on the sixth-generation Camaro, too.

Expect to see the revised Camaro fairly soon.

SEMA President and CEO Chris Kersting led a Q&A during the recent Town Hall Meeting at K&N Engineering Inc.

SEMA’s 2018 Town Hall series officially kicked off February 27, in Riverside, California, at K&N Engineering Inc., with 204 SEMA members and non-members in attendance. Members had the chance to network with local industry leaders and participate in a Q&A with SEMA President and CEO Chris Kersting and SEMA Board of Directors Chair-elect and K&N Vice President Tim Martin.

Town hall attendees had the opportunity to network with each other and dozens of SEMA representatives, who were positioned throughout the reception area. SEMA Membership Director Gary Vigil, Senior Education Director Zane Clark, Vice President of OEM and Product Development Mike Spagnola and SEMA Data Co-op Membership Manager Tim Stewart led their stations in discussions about their respective areas of expertise.

As the evening progressed, Kersting and Martin proceeded with the evening’s schedule. During his opening speech, Kersting touched upon several topics, including the history of SEMA, councils and networks and the various resources available to SEMA members.

During the Q&A, Kersting and Martin answered attendee questions. Main topics covered included the following:

• EPA Regulation/RPM Act
• The SEMA Garage Emissions Lab
• Youth Involvement Initiatives
• SEMA Scholarship Fund
• Councils and Networks

Other speakers throughout the night included Clark, who provided information on SEMA scholarships, and SEMA Garage Compliance Center Manager Peter Treydte, who shed light upon emissions compliance.
