SEMA Show Floor 2015
Friday, April 1, is the deadline to submit SEMA Show applications to be eligible for the Priority Space selection process, but that's just the start of a solid game plan.

Planning early for the 2016 SEMA Show yields several benefits for Show exhibitors, including selecting the best possible space for the event, learning valuable tips and details on the most up-to-date resources available, and receiving guaranteed low rates on hotels.

Here are three steps, suggested by SEMA Show management, that exhibitors should complete as early as possible. Following the outline below will help companies prepare early, save time and money, and boost their overall ROI.

  1. Submit Booth Space Applications (by April 1) to be eligible for the Priority Booth Selection Process. Beginning May 2, the three-week Priority Booth Selection Process gives exhibiting companies the opportunity to select their best possible space for the SEMA Show.

  2. Sign up for the SEMA Show Exhibitor Summit, the most hands-on, cost-effective way for companies to prepare for the SEMA Show. The goal of the Summit is to help companies properly plan and budget to add value to their Show investment. The Exhibitor Summit is scheduled for Monday–Tuesday, June 20–21, in Las Vegas.

  3. Visit the Travel & Lodging page on www.SEMAShow.com to view the best hotel deals available for the SEMA Show. Hotel reservations made through the Travel & Lodging page include guaranteed low rates and benefits, such as no resort fees, and the convenience of making adjustments without penalties. SEMA Show management has negotiated with OnPeak, the Show’s Official Housing Partner, to provide Showgoers with booking flexibility and the reassurance of working with a legitimate company. In addition to hotels, the Travel & Lodging page also includes several discounted airline offers for SEMA Show travelers. Alaska, Delta and United are among the first airlines offering up to 10% off on round-trip airfare to Las Vegas.

More information about the 2016 SEMA Show is available at www.SEMAShow.com.

The SEMA Data Co-op (SDC) has introduced a new feature that gives receivers instant data updates and makes it possible for manufacturers to get their products to market faster than ever before. Receivers will now automatically and instantly receive updated data formatted to their individual requirements any time a supplier publishes new information. With more than 1,200 members included in the repository, the SDC is the largest openly accessible industry product data repository.

“This is a great feature that really fills the gap in speed to market,” said Jim Graven, SDC director of membership. “Through the SDC, members will be the first to know about new products or data corrections as they happen.”

Receivers who prefer to regulate the flow of data may choose to utilize the delivery scheduler, which can manage deliveries by date and time in both full file refreshes or net changes since the last delivery.

Craig Schmutzler, director of customer support, noted, “The SDC is designed to work around the members’ individual needs and offers receiver-friendly data delivery processes. I encourage all suppliers and receivers to join the Co-op and experience our expert customer support and state-of-the-art technology.”

To learn more about the program, visit www.SEMADataCoop.org or contact Jim Graven at JimG@SEMADataCoop.org or 888-958-6698, ext. 4.

The Iowa House amended and approved legislation to require the issuance of only a single license plate for motor vehicles.

Legislation to require the issuance of only a single license plate for motor vehicles was amended and approved by the Iowa House. Under the amendment, sports cars and those vehicles registered as antiques would be included among those allowed to display a single plate attached to the rear of the vehicle.

Iowa defines an antique vehicle as a motor vehicle 25 years old or older. H.F. 2148 defines a “sports car” to mean a motor vehicle originally manufactured with seats for two passengers, with a front bumper that sits 8 in. from the ground or less, and capable of exceeding 134 mph. The bill will now be heard by the Senate Transportation Committee.

For more information, visit the SEMA Action Network (SAN) website. For details, contact Steve McDonald at stevem@sema.org.
